Chasing Fire

Prologue

"You're not the same guy I used to know"

I used to love.

I stared at his green eyes, waiting for a little change of the emotion swirling on his green orbs. Pero nanatili ang galit sa mga mata niya, hindi man lang nag atubiling itago ang kung ano ang nararamdaman.

"I don't intend to stay that way" He smugly stated.

"You've changed..." mahina lang ang boses ko, just enought for him to hear even with our shared distance.

"You changed me."

Ngumiti ako, hindi dahil sa tuwa kundi dahil sa lungkot. Gustuhin ko mang haplusin ang mukha niya, di ko ginawa. Seeing him this close is more than enough for me. Crossing beyond that line will make it more harder for me, so I need to set boundaries for myself.

Di na ako nagsalita. Nanatili akong nakatayo sa harapan niya habang nakatitig sa mga berde niyang mata. Marami ang nagbago. And the only feature left unchanged was his soft lips. Everything's unfamiliar, even his eyes were more expressive than before. Hindi na siya ang dating batong presidente na minahal ko. He felt like a stranger to me.

"I'm sorry"

Sa pagbigkas ko ng mga katagang matagal ko ng gustong sabihin ay nanatili lamang siyang nakatitig sa akin. He didn't bother to changed the way he stared at me, kitang-kita ko ang pag alab ng galit sa mga mata niya. But then slowly, he smirked.

And at that moment, I realized how far he is from me right now. I can't seem to reach him kahit pa abot kamay ko na siya.

"Your sorry is five years late, Ayumi"
