Chapter 31: Whats Spoken cannot be Unsaid.

Start from the beginning

"Of course not baby, I'm always on your side. Me and your father." I plea. She looked over at me with narrow red eyes,

"You know you've gotten so good at that. You've gotten really good at believing your own bullshit. Dad doesn't like who we are and you know it. But you just keep pretending and lying until we all believe it. But guess what? It's not working. But you know what I've come to understand, you two are afraid of me. I've killed people and I've got more magic than you think I can handle. So I get it. I'm not what either of you expected in a daughter. Hell I'm not even what you wanted in a child" She adds as she motions to her father.

"I get it, but dont come in my room with your fake apologies and fake sympathies. The only reason you came in here is to sooth your own egos, so why don't you do me a favor and get the hell out of my room."

"Olivia-"

"Get out!" She screamed and the next thing I knew a gust of wind burst through the windows and flung us out the room like trash. As I laid on my side on the floor, I couldn't help the feeling of failure. I failed my only daughter, I murmured in my head.

"Addeline!" Damien shouts a little and I look up at his awaiting hand. I take it slowly and rise to my feet. Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion,

"Well that went well" Damien grunts as we both walk into the bedroom.

"I cant believe that she said that to us...well some of it I can but not all of it. We don't want her dead. I never said we should kill her! I just mentioned maybe putting her away for her own safety."

"And I trust her...Addeline are you listening to me?" Damien asks. Honestly, no. I couldn't even begin to care about whatever it was that he was talking about. All I could think about was the way Olivia looked at me. The way she yelled at me, the words that left off her lips she meant. Have I really been that blind to my daughter's emotions?

"Addeline-"

"Why do both of our kids think that you hate them?" I cut off

"I don't know, maybe I'm too hard on them." He replies as he plops on the loveseat.

"Damien, both of them think that you hate them and you think it's because you're too hard on them? No. Clearly it's an underlying issue here."

"Oh so this whole thing is my fault?"

"I didn't say that. But it's not some coquiencidence that they both think that you hate them. It's no secret that you wanted them to be different. It's no secret that you're not on board with the magic."

"Is it so wrong to not want your kids in danger for just a second? When Olivia didn't have her magic, it was actually pretty peaceful here. Their magic causes nothing but trouble. And I'm not wrong for wanting my kids to have a shred of normalcy."

"That normalcy that you want so badly, broke her. She was barely even herself, have you forgotten that?"

"No, I didn't. But I'm also not going to say that she wouldn't have been better off without it. Both of them would be."

"What is that supposed to mean?" I question as I turn myself around in my vanity seat.

"You know what I mean."

"No actually I don't. Why don't you enlighten me?"

"Drax is so damn afraid to apply himself because of his damn magic that he's just pathetic. And Olivia is so busy trying to prove herself that she's lost herself. She's killing people! And now Rose has gotten to her and who knows what the hell she taught her. She's more a threat than she was before!"
