Six Years Later...
"Why is it that we can never go and play with the other children?" I pout while knocking over my blocks. My twin brother, Drax, looked over at me with a frown.
"Because they don't like us," he stated. I crossed my arms over my chest
"I'm tired of playing with Gaia, she tells on us too much," I grumble. Drax laughs,
"What do you expect from a mommy's girl?"
"But you're a mommy's boy?" His face flared
"You take that back!"
"Never!" I laugh as I take off full speed out our room and down the hall. I could hear Drax feet right behind me. I turned around to see how close he was when I ran right into something. I crashed to the ground and held the back of my head. I looked up to see Dad staring at the two of us with an amused look on his face.
"What do we have here?" he questioned
"She called me a mommy's boy!" Drax pouted, and I snickered. Dad looked down at me
"Liv, was that nice?" I cross my arms
"It was true," I grumble. Dad gives me a more serious look, and I let out a loud sigh,
"I'm sorry Drax."
"Thank y-"
"You big baby." I mummer and he narrows his eyes. Its like he has super hearing or something. I looked up at dad,
"Daddy, can we play outside?" I ask, and he hesitates
"I don't think mom would-"
"Please" I beg
"We've been stuck in here all week because of the rain. But it's gone now." Dad looks between the two of us still unconvinced.
"We'll take Gaia with us." Drax bargains and I had to stop the urge to roll my eyes.
"Well if Gaia is going then I guess it's alright. She's in the painting room with your aunty A. And no more fighting please." he agrees before shelving our hair and walking back into his office. I fix my long locs with a huff and Drax does the same. We both head down to the painting room,
"Why did you tell that Gaia was coming?"
"It was the only way he'll say yes. He knows Gaia wouldn't get in any trouble." Drax comments once we round the corner. We could instantly spot Gaia the moment we heard her try to mimic her mother's laugh. We stood in the doorway and saw our Aunt bouncing Gaia on her lap, and Gaia was smiling and laughing. To others, this would seem cute except Gaia tries so hard to act like her mother its annoying. Drax cleared his throat, and they stopped,
"Hi Aunty A." Drax smiled, and she looked over at him disapprovingly
"It's Good Afternoon Drax. You always speak that way to a lady or any woman with high status." Aside from being our aunt, she also teaches us manners and how to behave around other rich people. I hated the lessons.
"Sorry, Good Afternoon Aunty A." he corrected himself, and I feel the irritation radiating from his skin. It's a twin thing. Aunty smiled,
"Much better, did you both need something?" she asks
"We came to ask Gaia if she wanted to go play." I pitch in, and Gaia smiled while hopping off her mother's lap. Aside from trying to act like her mother she even dressed like her. Gaia wore flimsy gowns and pearls around her neck. It wasn't the imitating part that annoyed us but the fact that she acted snobbily.
"I'd love too. Goodbye mother." she waved as we all made our way downstairs and towards the courtyard. The sun was shining high in the sky, and I knew it was perfect weather for a duel. I always hated play fighting in the house because the staff shrieked at us for breaking things. But if we are outside, the only thing that could get harmed are ourselves. I shoved my brother and rushed to grab the right stick. He took notice to my eagerness and pushed me back to find his. Gaia merely sat on the stairs and watched. She never liked getting dirty or even playing for that matter. Some seven year old she is.
