High School Getaway (M.C)

Chapter 1

Today was the first day of high school and I was so excited. I had bought a new Nirvana tee and black skinnies for today and black boots. As I go down stairs to get breakfast my father is down there with yet another dis approving look.

"You'll never get into Harvard looking like that Emm."

"Maybe I don't want to go to Harvard and become a stuck up lawyer like you dad."

"Little lady that is no way to talk to your father."

"Well let me live my own life dad!"

"You have to prepare for the future Emmily, and it starts now it starts in high school and you are not going to get into a good college with this emo look and your emo friends."

"Dad who cares about the future."

My sister Mackenzie walks down the stairs. Let me tell you about Mackenzie she was beautiful and preppy and in the in-crowd. We were best friends growing up but something changed in 7th grade and she shut me out and that's when I started to dress in black. My parents' favorite Mackenzie more because her life was "more put together".

"Now Emmily why can't you be more like Mackenzie? She has her future planed out and she has normal friends."

I left the kitchen cause I hate when my dad does that. Now what I thought was going to be the best day of my life is not looking so good. I went and sat on the couch next to my mom. My mom turned into my best friend when Mackenzie shut me out but, I hardly get to see her since she works the day/night shift at the hospital so she sleeps all morning and most of the afternoon. She just got home from her 10 or 11-hour shift and she was sitting on the couch watching some show.

"Hey Emmily how's my baby doing?"

"Well I thought today was going to be awesome but somehow I was wrong."

"Did your father say something?"

"Ya as usual and then Kenzie came down and it got worse so I left. How was your shift?"

"You know your father just wants the best for you honey and it was good and I'm tired so I'm gunna go get in bed and make sure your ready for school Kaylee and Faith will be here any moment and who knows maybe you'll catch a guys eye today." She said and winked.

"Omg mom don't wink at me" I say laughing "Plus no guy even knows I exist."

I heard a honk outside witch means Kaylee and faith are here. I say goodbye to my mom and leave.
