⊱⋅ ─ 01: CHOSEN

"You can run as fast as you can, kid," said one of the thugs, that were tailing at Felix, as he ran through the alleyways, "But you can't fucking hide, so hand in the damn money you snatched!"

"No way! It's mine, and only mine from the beginning before you threatened to beat me up if I don't give it to you!" Felix thought.

Felix ran faster, his eyes shut as he huffed, he didn't really know where he was going, it's a first for him to perform publicly at Entertainment District, and also, a first for him to receive a large amount of money, he had set to perform more recently at this District, until these thugs came in and tried to extort him for the money he earned.

"Shit!" The freckled boy cursed as he nearly collided with a brick wall  a dead end. Felix was about to turn on his heels and head to another passage through the alley, but when he turned his head, he was already cornered.

"Give up the money and we will leave you alone!" A thug threatened as he pointed his baseball bat at the boy.

"Fuck off!" Felix spat as he hid the money in his jeans' back pocket, "I spent time and effort on this and you wussy jackasses just wanna take it away from me 'cause you can't get enough money from your shitty as fuck jobs!"

Felix snarled when one of the thugs grabbed him by the shirt and threatened to punch him with his fist, "This fucker is big in words, let's see if he will still feel big after I"

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," they all turned their heads to a silhouette, "G'day, mate," and they heard a cocking sound, from a gun. The stranger stepped out from the darkness and pointed the gun at the group with a smirk, "Now, let go of the kid and y'all can sissy out of this place," the thug darted his eyes from the freckled boy, to the stranger and to his comrades, nevertheless he let go of the lad's collar, that the action itself had made Felix drop to the ground hard, landing on his bum as he did.

Without a minute, the thugs cleared out of the area snarling at the man who had saved Felix from getting beaten up and robbed or maybe killed at that filthy place where his body might be found in a matter of hours or less. Felix shook those gruesome thoughts away and stood up on his feet, dusting off his already soiled tattered clothes and didn't give the stranger a glance.

As he was about to walk past him like nothing had ever happened, "How rude and ungrateful, not thanking me, not even a bow?" Felix's arm was grabbed  by the stranger, "Where you heading?"

"Home, obviously," Felix pried his arm away and glared at the stranger as he stepped back, "What's your business?" He raised brow and kept his defense on point, this person might be much more dangerous considering that he's got a gun.

"I've been watching you, Felix," the stranger hid his gun, smirking as he looked at the younger, "you seem like a fast runner yourself, kid." He commented.

"This guy was stalking me? Fucking creepy." Felix thought in disgust.

Who knows how long that guy was watching Felix before he could talk to him now at this very moment?

Felix rolled his eyes heavenwards as he heard the last statement the stranger had uttered, "If I wasn't, then, I could've been beaten up to a stupor, my money would be long gone and my sister wouldn't have anything to eat," Felix blurted out as he kicked away an empty water bottle. As he heard no response coming out from the person who just talked to him, he looked up the stranger to only see the stranger's expression unwavering, "What's your excuse?" He raised a brow once more.

"I was just wondering if you wanna join a race for money..." The stranger raised a brow, digging his hands into his pockets leisurely, "It's pretty simple."
