One knee on the ground and elbows resting on her other, she listened to the unfortunate cadet who was caught in the crossfire with Kagami narrate his side of the story. Though her face showed concern, anger was bubbling inside her.  "Cadet Yamamoto," his eyes were traumatized and every word that came out trembled and dripped with fear. "You were very brave out there, but you're still a child you don't have to hide your fears. I was once scared, too."

It was true, she admired her young cadets for enduring their training. It was enough to compel them to drop everything and run home, but all of them stayed. And now she's crouched in front of someone who's seen what he wasn't supposed to see. "Thank Taiga when you're strong enough to stand on your own now. You're dismissed."

If Kagami was there standing by her side and heard that tone, matched with that loving look in her eyes then he'd be frozen in his spot. It was a side of her that he deserved to see but never saw.

"Yes, ma'am!" He saluted her with a smile wide enough to show his crooked teeth before running to the infirmary,

She stayed on the ground, a solemn look taking over when she thought about their futures. Standing up, she made her way to an abandoned office turned to Kagami's resting quarters. Hand on top of the sword's handle, walking with overwhelming authority.

Aomine's attention caught on her and tore his eyes away from his squad. "You're all dismissed." Following her with the same face, he planned that he'd charm her with a simple, "Hey Commander." He said, grasping her shoulder only to earn an unwanted glare.

"Unhand me now," she ordered, hand flying away from her sword to swat his hand away.

"Your knight isn't here, Commander Reizen." He said, leaning down, to catch a whiff of her scent. "You're a defenseless woman now."

Disgusted with his actions and the lack of distance between them, she jabbed her sword's handle against his ribs to push him off. "You truly disgust me. How can scums like you rise to become a lieutenant anyway? "

He watched her feeling victorious rather than ashamed that the Commander did that to him. He stood there, watching her walk further and further away from him. "You just wait, Commander Reizen. I'll have you begging for me."

----

The door was locked the moment she stepped in. All the curtains were drawn to block out sunlight in his room. Standing back, he looked at her with eyebrows furrowed, holding the hand that almost slapped him. His scowl didn't have an effect on her, rather is produced more anger in her eyes when she stared back at him.

"I risk my life for you and ignore me in return." He growled, tightening his grasp around her fingers. He pulled her with him to the bathroom.

"He was no older than fourteen. HE'S STILL A CHILD! If you haven't shot him in time, he'd be dead by now." She yelled back, trying to take away her fingers out from his hand. "It's hurting me, let go."

Instead, he slammed her against the bathroom's door before letting go. "You should know your place, [Y/n]." He ripped off her shirt, its buttons tearing away. "Commanding a battlefield without any underwear on." Her eyes widened, remembering that she was in a rush when the air raid began.

This was another one of their arguments coming into an all too familiar conclusion. She shook her head, looking up to glare at him. This time it was different, she won't allow such a thing to go by. Kagami, paid no attention, believing only rough intercourse would bring out the emotions he wanted from her.

She too. She put up a facade that protected her from everyone. Living with it and sleeping with it that she forgot that she could be her real self with Kagami.
