Teacher's day. That's why it somehow felt gloomy when he woke up.

He sighed in defeat, knowing that there's no use not attending school today. After all, he was one of the third years who was put in charge of teaching the other younger students.

"What's the point? They're teachers for a reason." He grumbled, shooting a three-pointer to try and ease his nerves. "Third years are also students with more stress, so why do we have to teach those gremlins?"

Much to his dismay his ray of sunshine popped in the court way too early for his liking with a grin that annoyed him to a point that he'd willingly stand in front of a truck driven by a drunk driver just so he could avoid seeing Kise ever again.

"What class are you teaching, senpai?" Kise teased, snatching the ball away from him and around the court. "I'm sorry, I should be calling you sensei."

"Even in this lifetime, you're as annoying as ever . . . kitsune."

His statement was followed by the ball dropping to the ground. "And what does that make you, Shinigami?"

He sighed. For thousands of year,s the two of them have stuck together despite their contrasting personalities. Maybe it was the fact that they knew they were once human and were too desperate to regain their memories. They wanted to know who they were and who they once were. Kasamatsu slung his blazer over his shoulder.

"Remembered anything yet?" He asked. A solemn look crossed the blond's face.

She stood in front of the temple where she lived, wearing Kaijou's uniform with an annoyed expression on her face.

"What if I don't see Kise? What if I had been being misled by my gut feeling? What I'm I gonna do, Huh, Tomoe?"

"A temple's built over the castle you were born and died in." The white-haired fox reminded her in an equally annoyed tone. "Being reincarnated here as a god is no coincidence."

She stomped her foot followed by a tired groan. "Besides the god of the afterlife must find an apprentice and find the god of death."

"BUT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF DEATH GODS!"

Clicking her tongue she made her way to the school, ignoring Tomoe. She hated the fact that he was always right and that he knew more than her. "I swear to god, Nanami should order you to kill yourself."

"And which god are you swearing to, hmm?" Tomoe teased as he flew above her.

"The Watanabe's were different from all of the royal families who lived in the 15th century. Their clan married people from outside the royal lines of families." Kasamatsu rolled his eyes when he looked up to see that all the students he was supposed to be teaching were on their phones. He set his textbook and coughed.

'There's a god nearby,' he thought when he felt the strong energy lurk in. "Please excuse me."

She heard footsteps coming closer and closer to her. She paid no mind and relaxed under the sun's heat, her legs dangling over the window's edge.

"You can injure yourself if you lose your balance." She heard someone behind her say. Suddenly he felt an energy that no human or ordinary god would possess surge through her body, taking her by surprise. She looked behind her and was disappointed to see someone look so ordinary. For someone who was a death god she expected someone more . . . well, her smart mouth couldn't say anything. He was tall. He was intimidating. Just like a certain head butler from long ago.

He, on the other hand, expected someone who looked more elegant rather than a student relaxing on the window on the fifth floor. "Kasa . . . matsu-san?" His life flashed before his eyes when he heard her say his name. Everything played like a movie and that's when he realized that the person who held the key to their memories was sitting right in front of him.

"You still sit on windows, what else? Do you still pick flowers?"

"I still don't have my beloved to hold my basket for me, Head Butler."

---

"How wonderful the god of death passes out after regaining all his memories." He shielded his eyes from the sun rays peeping through the curtains.

"I know you have powers beyond your control and combined with your memories coming back it must've been painful to handle all at once," she said, patting his forehead. "Well, at least you finally remembered your past, Head Butler Kasamatsu."

Unable to sit up straight he slowly craned his neck to the side just to see the Princess he once served now reincarnated as a Goddess. He noticed that she was wearing a red floral kimono and her hair no longer tied up. "I see you've been reincarnated as god as well. The god of death."

"Ah, you're awake." Exclaimed the nurse who opened the door with the set of discharge papers in her hand. "Perhaps you could sign these so you and your girlfriend could go home now."

"He's nothing but my butler." She snapped in a disgusted tone.

"You're still a brat." He retorted in an equally annoyed tone.

"You should look for him." He suddenly blurted out unable to take in the silence that surrounded them as they walked to the shrine she lived in.

They were- undoubtedly- a sight to see. One look like an annoyed teacher and the other looked as if they just walked out of the Edo period. There was a nostalgic smile on her face as she thought about how they'd meet. Maybe it was like the first time all over again or maybe even more romantic this time.

"I can feel his energy close by. I won't look for him, he'll find me." She said, blushing. Kasamatsu couldn't help but click his tongue at her.

Their eyes widened when miasma surrounded the air. The sky turned purple. Their true forms came out and she felt him stand behind her, both of their backs pressed against each other as they drew out their katanas. "Those damned gods again."

Throughout his photoshoot, Kise couldn't help but feel more . . . giddy than usual. It was the energy that made him feel so. The weird energy that he felt since he began his day. Though he had to keep a lustful look on he found it hard to do so. He knew that he shouldn't have followed that energy when they went out of the school.

But he wanted to meet her alone. Only the two of them with a basket of flowers in his hands, kiss her until he gets kicked away as she found it hard to breathe. He didn't want to be embarrassed again. He didn't want to feel Kasamatsu's judgemental gaze on him.

"Good work today, Kise." His manager praised, patting his back. He only threw her a nod and excitedly packed his bag. "You got a date with someone special."

"EH?!" He exclaimed, blushing furiously under her mother like gaze on him. "I mean it's nothing like that at all."

She let out a laugh and pushed him out of the door. "Whatever it is I hope you enjoy."

"See you tomorrow!"

And thus he ran out of the agency, nearly tripping on his own two feet.
