Three years and many fights later, Cloud found himself helplessly in love with the (H/C)-haired girl. These long three years later, he found himself face-to-face again with the notorious  (Y/N) (L/N), this time in the fiercest battle since Sephiroth. The girl generated a bow and a quiver of arrows, nocking the arrow before taking aim at his heart. Cloud was running out of options, and he had no idea what to do.

"Please, (Y/N)! This isn't who you are! You don't have to do this!" Cloud had no idea what to say to the girl. He didn't know how to get her away from ShinRa, from Angeal; the man she had been raised to think of as her father.

"Of course it's who I am! I was breeded for ShinRa, for them to destroy! Zack Fair was their most powerful weapon, and he took himself out, along with half of the First Class SOLDIER army! I've known nothing else my whole life, the entire nineteen years that I've been here. No one cares if I change and I don't plan on it any time soon. Good luck, Strife." (Y/N) finished, shooting the arrow and watching as Cloud dodged it, but not before it skimmed his shoulder, slicing the sensitive skin, infecting it with Mako. Not that it hurt the kid, he was practically Lifestream himself. However, the sting of the Mako made it so he couldn't feel his arm.

"Will you just fucking listen to me?! You don't have to keep on as a slave for ShinRa! Why do you think Zack left? Why do you think I left? Zack was ShinRa's most loyal soldier! Hell, Angeal let Zack get engaged to his biological daughter! Please, I'm getting you. You don't have to keep doing this. Come away with me, you can be happy with me and start over! Don't keep pretending that you're happy as an assassin." Cloud finished, clutching the spot on his shoulder that had been hit by the altered arrow. By then (Y/N) had lowered her bow, the arrow still nocked.

"How touching; I especially love that you were willing to leave your fiancè for said assassin." She said, before raising her bow and firing.

Cloud woke up in the hospital, an IV in his arm and heart monitor by his side. He felt an intense pain in his chest, the most intense physical pain in which he had ever felt. He looked down as best he could, seeing a large bandage around his left shoulder and chest. He figured that an infected arrow had gone through his chest, courtesy of (Y/N) (L/N). He sighed.

As much as he wanted to deny it, he couldn't help but think that he wanted to see the girl again. A knock at the door alerted him to the presence of Tifa, along with a nurse.

"How ya holding up, kiddo?" Tifa asked, punching his arm. Cloud winced in pain, but chuckled nonetheless.

"Better, I guess. I don't really know. Can't remember much of what happened," Cloud said, the next thought in he had he knew Tifa wouldn't agree with. "But I want to see her again. I know what you're thinking and I know how you feel, but this is my battle. These are my demons. I need to take care of them. It's ShinRa's fault that Zack, Xira, and Aerith are dead, and this may be my only opportunity to reconcile with myself get my revenge on ShinRa." Cloud finished, shying away from all of Tifa's attempts at physical contact.

"Cloud... I know that you're still blaming yourself for the deaths of your best friend, and the only two women you've ever fallen in love with. I can't even imagine what you're going through, but you know I'm here for you. I'll even be your new Xira." Tifa said, mumbling the last part. Cloud, unfortunately for her, heard the last part and was absolutely disgusted with the girl.

"Look, Tifa. I owe you so much for taking care of me. But nobody will replace Xira... Nobody. I don't want to find somebody else, because she was the only one for me. Please, just let me live how I'm going to live. Let me take down my demons the way that I want to take them down." Cloud looked into Tifa's eyes the entire time, watching as her gaze darkened when he mentioned his then-to-be wife.

"Fine. You're still welcome to stay with me at Seventh Heaven, but don't expect much from me anymore; not that you would need it, anyway." Tifa said, walking out of the hospital room. The nurse had witnessed the entire thing, watching the whole scene unfold. Only then did she reveal herself, as the infamous ShinRa assassin.

"I'm flattered, really," (Y/N) said, stepping away from the equipment and towards the blonde. "What did you want? ShinRa still wants me to get rid of you, you know." (Y/N) finished, gazing into Cloud's Mako eyes. The spiky blond sighed.

"You remind me so much of her. I can't let either of you go, though I know I should. I ought to be begging you to kill me, but I wouldn't let ShinRa win that easily." He said, sitting up as best he could, wincing at the pain in his chest. The girl was a good shot, he couldn't deny that. (Y/N) only smirked, leaning close to Cloud so that their noses were nearly touching. A deep chuckle left her throat as she put her mouth on his in a heated kiss, and Strife couldn't help but kiss back. He moved his uninjured arm to the girl's neck, trying to pull her closer to him. If he was being completely honest, if he kept his eyes closed, all he saw was Xira. He knew it was wrong, and he shouldn't be. But it was okay, right? Maybe (Y/N) could help him forget about the girl. She pulled away too soon for Cloud's liking, a small, almost unnoticeable, whine escaped his parted lips.

"You've got something good in ya, kid. I'll give you that. Something desirable and damn valuable. Maybe that's why ShinRa wants you back so badly." She moved even father away from Cloud, only further upsetting him. "Maybe I'll see you around, don't be afraid to come find me." (Y/N) winked, disappearing from the isolated hospital room in a cloud of Mako Lifestream.

She really was something else.

And Cloud would certainly be taking her up on her offer to meet up again.

Holy shit that was bad and I know but I needed something to publish. I also needed to publish this cuz I've got like 8 chapters currently under construction. But requests are still open so don't be afraid to hmu w/ those :))
