Jisoo felt a warm fuzzy sensation pool in her heart. Whether it was arousal or admiration, it did not matter, because she had not felt either way with that intensity before, and it was starting to worry her.

What if Jennie turns out to be Miss J?

----------

It was after class, and Jennie and Jisoo were strolling out of the lecture hall, where the tension and confusion had arisen before class and ended in the middle of it. Jennie was back to her composed self, more light-hearted than usual with a skip in her steps. She always enjoyed Lit.

"What do you have now?" Jisoo asked as they stepped out into the hallway and stood by a pillar out of everyone else's way.

"Dance," Jennie shrugged with a smile.

"Ah don't they grill you. Practice on consecutive days?"

Jennie chuckled, it was so easy and comfortable around this girl in front of her. "Well, I'm captain, thus politically I can't complain."

"Aye aye, capt, let me walk you there," Jisoo raised two fingers to her forehead and did a lazy salute, not without a smirk and a wink. As Lisa had described, Jisoo was indeed very smooth with her talk and gestures, so smooth that it had caught Jennie off guard. By the time she wanted to decline, Jisoo was already walking ahead of her towards the dance studio.

Jennie caught up with Jisoo just as a thought caught up with her too, "Wait... first you knew my name before we even introduced, and now you know I had dance yesterday. How did you...?"

Jisoo tilted her head a little to the side to look at Jennie as they walked, "Ah curious little cutie, aren't you?"

Despite rolling her eyes, Jennie could not deny the flutter in her stomach, the skip of her heart, and the tug at her lips. Gosh, can my body react any more dramatically? She cocked an eyebrow at Jisoo with a shrug and avoided eye contact in an effort to look unaffected.

She heard Jisoo chuckle, then a packet of gummy bears was pushed into view. "Good to have energy for dance," Jisoo offered. Jennie could not decide if that was Jisoo being sensitive and caring or plain nice and friendly, but she picked out a red bear anyway and popped it in her mouth with a thank-you.

"Mrs. Park was literally calling you out of a trance after class yesterday, and later you were walking from the direction of the studio to the field, in pretty much dance attire," Jisoo continued chewing on her gummy bears as she picked out a red one and dangled it in front of Jennie, "That's how I knew your name and also inferred your co-curricular activity."

Taking the red gummy bear and popping it into her mouth, Jennie nodded thoughtfully, "I see..." She did not know why she felt happy knowing that Jisoo made these observations about her, until she reminded herself of Jisoo's reputation: Then again, she probably is making a ton of observations about other girls as well...

They ambled along in a couple of minutes of comfortable silence with their mouths busy disintegrating bears, until they stood a few feet from the door of the dance studio.

"Why? Do you think I have a crush on you?" Jisoo slid her hands into the front pockets of her pants with a smirk, intently studying Jennie's face.

The question came out of nowhere and caught Jennie like a deer in headlights. There was a slight pause.

"Do you?" Jennie figured two could play at this flirting game – as long as she remembered that they were flirting and only flirting, no strings attached. She crossed her arms slowly and decided to hold Jisoo's gaze this time around.

"Maybe. Do you want me to?" Jisoo took a step closer, eyes never leaving Jennie's chocolate orbs.

"Only if you can handle it." Jennie was not backing down, in fact, she was enjoying being this flirtatious. She stepped forward until she could see the dilation of Jisoo's irises and feel Jisoo's sweet breath on her lips. Neither girl was breaking the gaze, whether it was out of pride or something else entirely.

"Challenge accep –," that was the last thing Jennie heard before muffled chattering down the hallway caused her to pull back and turn around abruptly. She started fumbling with unlocking the door to the studio. Even with her back to Jisoo, she could practically feel Jisoo's gaze still unwavering and now boring into her back, she could bet on that annoying smirk that must be growing on Jisoo's face right now.

"Yo, Jistar, my friend!" Jennie immediately recognized Lisa's overly excited voice, booming over the muted conversations of her other dance mates.

She had managed to unlock the door to the studio and turned around just in time to meet her entire crew slowing to a stop in front of her and Jisoo. Some exchanged introductions, handshakes, and bows with Jisoo who politely and patiently returned the gestures, while the rest greeted Jisoo as a group, before filing into the dance studio for practice, leaving Jennie and Lisa with Jisoo in the hallway.

The door was ajar and the unsubtle fangirling in the form of half-stifled shrieks and high-pitched whispers wafted into the hallway. The trio shared a knowing laugh before Lisa shook her head and sighed, "Ah... Our dear Jisooperstar makes us all love-sick fools."

Jisoo chuckled, "Well, I can't help it." Then, she looked at her watch briefly before pointing a thumb behind her and began walking backwards, "Whoops, I gotta run for soccer practice. Literally."

Right when Jisoo turned her back towards them, ready to sprint for the field, she heard Lisa call out, "Jistar, wait!"

Jisoo turned back around, questioning with a cocked brow.

"I just thought you were at the gym, what brings you here? Did you want something from the studio?" Lisa asked out of her helpful nature.

"Hmm..." Jisoo tapped a finger on her chin as she continued walking backwards.

"Jennie, it was Jennie," was her reply before she full-on grinned and saluted goodbye, turning around and sprinting away with her powerful strides. Jennie rolled her eyes and scoffed, yet could not resist smiling back at that dopey grin on Jisoo. For once, Jisoo had on a silly grin instead of that flirtatious smirk – and for the life of her, Jennie could not understand why that would make her blush so much harder now from the tips of her ears to the base of her neck.

"Huh? What?" Lisa scrunched up her nose in confusion at what Jisoo had said. She turned to Jennie who was still smiling softly at Jisoo's disappearing back view, then it clicked and she exclaimed with widening eyes, "Ohhh! Now I get it!"

And Jennie knew instantly she was not getting any sleep tonight without an interrogation.

Who was she kidding? There would be no sleep tonight even if, by some miracle, Lisa let her off the hook. She knew her right brain would torment her relentlessly with the two possible insinuations of Jisoo's answer: "Jennie, was what brought me here" and "Jennie, was what I wanted from the studio."
