Chapter 16: Take all that I have

Start from the beginning

"It doesn't matter." Gaia shrugs. I add the other ingredients and burn the sage. I wave it around and let the ashes fall into the water.

"Nothing is happening."

"Patience." I look over at Drax as I grab the small dagger that Gaia brought. He looked at me warily as he placed his arm in my hand. I pressed the blade against his throbbing vein and sliced it. He winced as I quickly held it over the pond. After four drops, the water stirred. The water turned like water would when it goes down a drain as the sky darkened. We all looked around at the quick weather change,

"That doesn't seem good."

"We need to jump, now," I instruct

"I...what if were doing exactly what the Sacred want us too. What if we are playing right into the Sacred's hands." Drax comments hesitantly

"Drax, this storm is bound to attract someone, and people attract fear. The last thing we want is to be spotted and brought back to the council. You have to jump in the water with us." I reply as I raise my voice. The sounds of the thunder and the swirling water were making it hard to hear one another. He looks nervous as I hold out my hand to the two of them.

"Are you with me?" I ask them both, and Gaia takes my hand.

"To the end." I smile at her as the wind picks up,

"To the end," Drax replies as he puts his hand in mine. We all exchange looks before we jump inside the puddle.

"Um your highness," the small woman squeaks as I dressed

"Um your highness," the small woman squeaks as I dressed. Today was day two of our search, and I didn't want anything distracting me.

"Yes, Theodora." I sigh

"I know you said no court today, however-"

"No court," I reply as I slip into some shoes and pull my blonde hair into a ponytail.

"Right, but the townsfolk-"

"I said no court." I glare as I look over at her. The town can wait, my children come first.

"I understand that my queen. Its just...the townsfolk have come in anyway, and I've tried to tell them that there won't be any court, but no one was listening." The frail woman rushed out. Sometimes I wonder how she got this job if she can barely raise her tone. I walked past her as I headed down the stairs,

"I'll handle it, Theodora." I groan as I make it to the bottom of the stairs and cross into the main hall. I open the door and find half the town in there arguing and talking amongst themselves.

"Um excuse me!" I call out, and they stop talking.

"As Theodora has told you all, court is canceled for today. I need for you all to return to your homes."

"But what about our problems?"

"When you were sworn in you promised to listen to our problems and provide solutions!"
