"I don't know guys. Both of these solutions require risks. And a lot of what if's and maybes. Maybe we should go home and tell our parents what we found."
"Are you nuts? The moment we do they will shut us out just like before."
"Maybe that's a good thing. We don't know what kind of dangers we will be walking into." I stand up and stand in front of Gaia.
"I know you're scared. Letting a group of heart eating witches show us the way to a cursed killing hunter are all pretty terrifying. But we owe it to your mother and all the other future cursed beings. And who knows, maybe Selles death will be the trigger to wake your mother. We have to do this." I encourage, and she looked a little more convinced. I turned to Drax
"We can start the spell in the morning, let's all just try and get some sleep." We all agreed with that and spread out in the tiny cottage and tried to sleep.
It was a horrible sleep. The floor was hard, and I had no pillow or blanket. Drax was right about no one being in here in years. There wasn't a single pillow or blanket in this place. But then again, Drax didn't go in there to take naps. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. My back was killing me.
"Ugh, next time we run away, I'm bringing blankets." Gaia comments
"Let's just get out of here." Draw yawns. I walk over to the small port window and check our surroundings. It was downright empty out there.
"We're clear," I announce, and Drax stands to open the door. We all step out and squint at the sun. It feels like we were in for decades. I stretched,
"What ingredients do we need for the spell?" Gaia asks. I open the book in my hand and skim the page. We would need typical things like sage and water. But it also calls for unusual things like the eye of a toad, the feather of an owl, the blood of the tainted soul and the tears of a broken heart. I closed the book,
"We've got our work cut out for us." I looked over and spotted a small pond and approached it. They followed behind me,
"We should split up and find each of these ingredients and then meet back here." They both nod,
"Could probably cover more ground that way. What do you need from me?" Gaia asks
"Gaia, you get the eye of a toad, tears from a broken heart, and Sage."
"Drax you get the blood and the feather. I will stay here and keep you guys scent hidden."
"Can you do a spell for that long?"
"I don't know, but they cannot find you guys while you're out there. Meet me back here as quick as you guys can, please." I reply as I reach out to the two of them. A thought pinned in the back of my head, what if they didn't return? I didn't want to think that way. The gave me a smile before whooshing off. I start the spell to keep their scent hidden and silently pray; they both make it back safely to me.
After almost half an hour, my body starts to weaken. I never held a spell for this long, and I don't know how long I can hold it. I knew the last thing we needed was for their cover to be blown, but I can't keep this up for much longer. Thankfully I heard the sound of a whoosh and knew it was them. I dropped my hands and breathed in and out,
"Sorry, it took so long. I had to steal some of those things." Gaia answers as she passes me the materials.
"Yeah me too," Drax comments as he places his things down too.
"Hey, you don't look too good," Gaia comments concerned
"I'm fine." I lie. I open the book and start preparing. I would use the pound as our water source. The water was supposed to be what we travel through, so all I had to do was repeat the words and add the ingredients. I added the frog eye and tears first,
"Where did you even get the tears from?"
