Night had fallen over Shell Cottage. In the earlier attempt to make dinner in place of Bill and Fleur, the teenagers succeeded in defrosting and marinating the lamb they had found in the freezer. However, much to their dismay, the newlyweds came back from the beach, cheeks rosy and hair sticking in places from the ocean water, confirmed that the ancient oven would take twice the time to cook - let alone braise - anything.

It took almost four hours for Draco, Luna, Blaise, and Daphne to fall asleep in the attic amongst Emily's bed. At the time, the Potter twin was in the Healer's room for her check-up, so it was a great deal of love that she felt when she saw almost all of her closest friends together. Due to the fact that she did not feel one ounce of sleep in her, Emily returned to Thomas' room to pass the time.

Thomas pulled out a crisp deck of Muggle play cards from his work bag, "I was walking by this Muggle village - I don't know. They were on display, it was very colorful, and I thought it would be fun to play." He and Emily have been challenging each other for hours on end, with her on the losing side.

"I like the hair," Thomas commented, throwing his card in the pile, urging Emily to throw one of her own

"I like the hair," Thomas commented, throwing his card in the pile, urging Emily to throw one of her own. She smiled lightly, pleased with herself that her card resulted with Thomas adding an additional four cards to his hand. "Thank you. I'm thinking of keeping the color, too. It gives me a bit of character, don't you think?"

He laughed, smacking a card on the pile. "You have character written all over you."

"Too much isn't bad." Emily retorted, nonchalantly tossing her last card. "Also, you should know that it has been almost seven hours and I still don't get the gist of this game. I'm sincerely hoping that I win sometime after your successful streak of - "

"Em, you just won."

"Oh. Is this the part when I shout Uno?"

"Yes, dear."

"Uno!" Emily held her arms up in unfiltered joy, throwing her head back as she proclaimed her victory. Thomas laughs, snapping his fingers for the cards to magically arrange themselves back into their box. The girl lets her arms fall back to her sides, her eyes carefully watching as each card hope back into the palm-sized cardboard box. Her Healer looks at her wistfully, "You've got that look on your face,"

Emily raised her brows high, alarmed at his notion. "This is my face."

"What's on your mind, Emilia?" Thomas said lightly, playing with her name as if scolding his child.

A queasy sensation erupted from Emily's throat like sour bile, and it radiated from all the way down to her gut. "Draco called me boring- a big blah, to be specific. And it's not like it happened recently. We were like thirteen, we got into a fight and then he just spat that out. I ended things." She looked at Thomas, feeling a rush of gladness to have him listening to her. " What's weird is that I remembered everything when he returned my memories. It was like I was watching my life literally flash before my eyes, and I got to relive all of it."
