I waited impatiently outside, tapping my foot as I waited for Sha Lin in the training grounds.

"Stupid Sha Lin, he promised he'd show me how to use his bow..."

I grumbled, and a familiar voice said behind me,

"That's not very nice, calling someone stupid."

I spun around and Sha Lin grinned at me, waving his bow in the air.

"Heya Y/N! I'm gonna just pretend you didn't call me stupid! Let's get along with the lesson, shall we?"

He said cheerfully, and I felt guilt rush through me.

"I'm sorry Sha Lin."

"No worries! Anyways, let's get started!"

He stood behind me, and placed his bow in my hand.

"Here, you should try first."

He hands me an arrow, and I take it hesitantly.

I pull it back against the string of the bow, and I look back at him curiously.

He nods, smiling kindly at me.

I let go, and the bow nose dives into the ground with a thunk.

"Ugh, crap!"

I curse, kneeling down to pull the arrow out of the ground when Sha Lin beats me to it.

Our hands briefly touch for a second, when I quickly pull away, my hand burning where he touched it.

If my hand could blush, it'd be blushing like crazy right now..

He laughs, and tugs it out of the ground, placing it in my hand again. He makes sure to brush off all the dirt though.

"Here. Just like this."

His body is pressed against my back as he guides my hand into the correct motion.

I feel a blush appear on my face at his closeness.

Gosh darn it Y/N, you need to stop! He's just teaching you how to do something... calm down..

Despite this, I felt my heart fluttering frantically against my chest, the pounding becoming even faster when Sha Lin whispers in my ear softly,

"You can let go now. I got your hands in the right position."

I quickly try to focus, and I stare at the arrow.

I let go.

It soars in the air, and hits the middle of the bullseye that Sha Lin usually practices on.

"Ah, nice work, Y/N! You'll get good at this soon!"

He praises, and I smile shyly.

"Thanks."

He pats me on the head, and I hand the bow to him.

"No problem! It was nice teaching you! I gotta go, bye!"

He shouted, and I waved goodbye to him.

I smile to myself.
