"Fear cuts deeper than swords." - George R.R Martin
Wicked, nefarious, vile, and malicious are just a few of the words used to describe a cursed. But what is a cursed? A cursed being is a mixture of both vampire and wolf DNA. They are stronger and f...
What was that thing they told us in class? About saving human lives. Was it blood first and then put it on their mouth? Or was it biting them first and then giving blood? Is she suppose to be at least a little conscious or could it work if they're dead already? What am I supposed to do?! I bent down to move her hair out the way. Maybe if I can stop the bleeding, then she can wake back up right? I mean Gaia was bleeding all over, and we saved her. I noticed a black spec on the side of her neck. I turned her body on the side and moved the hair from the back of her neck. Right on the back of her neck was a black criss-cross. I know that sign but from where? I heard the sound of footsteps,
"Drax," Olivia breathed out, and my head shot up. She took in the entire scene in two seconds,
"What did you do?" I rushed to my feet. If anyone can help her its Olivia. She knows all the spells and everything. She can bring her back to me. I rush over to her and grab her arm, pulling her towards Julianna.
"It was an accident. Julianna was going crazy, throwing axes and trying to get me to use my magic. And then she threatened to hit you so I pushed her so that she would miss her shot, but she hit her head on a rock. You have to use your magic or something to bring her back. You can bring back the dead right?" She looked at me for a moment before Adam made his way over. He looked over at dead Julianna and the pool of blood by the grey rock where she hit her head.
"What the hell?" he muttered.
"It was an accident I-"
"Drax stop talking," Olivia instructed, and I shut my mouth. She bent down and examined Julianna and noticed the same mark that I did. She shook her head and threw Julianna's hair back over the back of her neck.
"She was hexed."
"Hexed?" Adam questions
"Someone put a spell on her." Olivia answers. That would explain her erratic behavior. But how would Olivia do her magic with Adam right here? She stood to her feet, "We need to find something to bury the body."
"Bury the body? I thought you can help?" I press and Olivia moves swiftly to my side.
"There is no way I can do magic in front of all these people, and I don't know any spells to bring back the dead. She's been dead for some time now, there's nothing you or I can do." I push her aside. I refuse to believe that there isn't anything that we can do. I bit into my wrist and attempt to feed it to her, but Adam smacks my wrist away.
"You want your blood all over the body? Are you stupid?" I look between the two of them,
"There has to be something we can do. I can't have...I can't have killed someone." I reply as my voice cracks. Olivia places a hand on my shoulder and rubs it.
"Help us bury her. No one can know about this. Right, Adam?"
"Right," he replies as he searches for a shovel. I can't believe we are about to bury someone I murdered. I sat down in the moist dirt floor and stared at my hands. How had everything gone so wrong so fast?
"Drax get up. We need to dig here." Adam instructs, and I look at him. I had no words. Olivia touches his arm,
"Let's just leave him. We can dig over here," she replies as they step off to dig. I heard the sound of dirt being thrown in the air and landed on the ground. I feel the breeze whip through the crisp autumn air. I see the moon shining proudly in the night sky yet none of this feels real. None of this could actually be happening. I did not just kill my girlfriend. I looked over at her glossy brown eyes and then look away. Her cold, lifeless body let me know that I really did. I killed someone. I'm a murder.
"Hey Adam, were all out of-" Geoffrey calls out before stopping mid-sentence. I turn to find him staring at Juliana's body before looking over at me. She was on her side now with her hair over her face and the head wound.
"Is she passed out drunk?" he questions before laughing. He looked over and saw Adam and Olivia digging a hole. I watched his smile diminish after he slowly put the pieces together. I should defend myself or at least explain that it isn't as bad as he thinks. But I just stare at him as he looks nervously at me.
"Geoffrey?" Olivia calls out, and he looks over at her. She comes over and looks between us. She sighs loudly before looking at him with an intimidating look,
"You can't say a word," she growled, and he threw his arms up in surrender
"I-I promise." he stuttered, and she narrowed her eyes before walking back over to Adam. Geoffrey put it upon himself to be the lookout as they dug as quickly as they could.

"No one will know ok," Olivia promised as all three of us walked back to the castle. Gaia is drunk off her ass, so we had not told her just yet what just happened. I didn't have the heart to thank my sister, but I know she knew I was thankful. I hadn't spoken since we buried Julianna and threw the bloody rock in a nearby stream. All evidence about what happened disappeared and the four of us swore to never talk about it.
I wished I could go back in time and kicked that rock somewhere else. Or stopped Julianna from taking me away from the party in the first place. I could go off of what if's or should have would have could have all night but it won't bring my girlfriend. It won't bring back the peace she made me feel, her beautiful laugh and the way her smile made my heart skip a beat. I won't get to hold her in my arms again, and I didn't even get to say goodbye. Her parents didn't even get to say goodbye. Would they even look into it? She was a human and the council were the ones who ordered all humans to be removed from the realm. Why would they care about a dead one? At this point, I wouldn't care if they bought me to be tried for my crimes. It was my fault, and I should be tried relatively like all other murderers.
We arrived at the castle, and we went through the front door. The castle was silent. A pin could drop, and it would echo through the halls. The entire castle must be asleep. Olivia gave me one more arm squeeze before helping Gaia to her bedroom. I had no intention of going to sleep. How could I sleep? The moment I close my eyes, I would see Julianna. I know her lifeless face would haunt me forever. I lingered up the stairs and saw a light emitting out of one of the rooms. I walk towards it and peak my head through the crack. I saw my mother sitting in the armchair reading a book silently. She had a knitted blanket over her legs and looked peaceful. I opened the door fully, and she jumped,
"Oh, honey you scared me." she smiled as she closed her book.
"Had fun tonight?" she questioned with a smile. She knew we were gone? She must have told Dad and all of them. Great! More punishment perhaps that's what I deserve. She chuckled,
"Don't worry, I didn't tell your father. I was the only one who saw you three sneak out. Your secret's safe with me." I walked over and sat by her feet. I rested my head against her lap. She seemed surprised by the interaction,
"Everything ok sweetie?" she question and I nod slowly before bursting into tears. She leaned over and laid her head against my neck as she wrapped her arms around my back. She rubbed my back slowly as I sobbed like a babe into my mother's legs.
