Chapter 6: Realization

Start from the beginning

"I'm sorry. I forgot your little crush is here." My mother giggles and I stare at her wide-eyed before turning to face Gaia.

"You told my mom?"

"It may have...slipped out," Gaia mumbles, and I groan.

"Oh honey, don't worry. I saw him, and Adam is quite the cutie." she smiles while fluffing my curls. I was dressed in a red lace gown and to complete the look my mother gave me a sapphire amulet she had made for me. I never asked where my mother got the sapphire from but who cares. She had pinned my hair back and curled my ends. Geoffrey and his boys were getting dressed in Drax room where I'm sure Dad is checking Adam out as well. Thanks again, Gaia.

"You both look so beautiful. I remember my first Hallow festival inside your father's castle." she smiles as she places a small crown on my head. Unlike Gaia who didn't have to wear a gold crown on her head, I was a princess so of course, I had to.

"He swept me off my feet." she gushes as she stares off into space. I always wanted a love like my mother and fathers. They may fight sometimes, but the amount of love that they have for one another is evident. I want someone to love me the same way.

"Well, Aunty we were going walk in with our friends soo.." Gaia trails off, and my mother stood up from my ottoman and brushed herself off.

"Right, I forgot that you didn't want to walk down with your mommy anymore." she smiled warily, and I walked behind her and placed my hands on her back.

"Love you, mom," I comment as I push her out the room

"I love you too little bee."

"Olivia!" I correct her before closing the door on her. I placed my back against the door and breathed out.

"She's going to embarrass me. I just have a feeling-" Another knock interrupts my sentence. I turn around and open the door,

"Mom please-" I reply before looking Adam in the eyes as he slowly smiles. I closed my eyes briefly, just my luck.

"I just came to see if you and Gaia are ready."

"Uh yeah, we are. Just one sec." I rush out before shutting the door on him.

"Holy crap I just called Adam mom."

"You do know he has super hearing like us, right?" Crap!

"Yeah, I can still hear you." I heard his voice answer through the door. I open the door and chuckled.

"So let's go." He extended his arm out for me to take and I did. We just found out that our Headmaster was invited to the festival as well seeing as though our parents wanted to sneak and find out our grades. I swear they both sucked at keeping secrets. We arrived at the grand hall and then separated to find our parents. I went to the punch bowl and poured myself some ale.

"You look nice," Drax comments as I look over at him while leaning against the table.

"Thank you. You cleaned up nicely as well."

"You dress color wouldn't happen to have anything to do with a certain someone's favorite color?" Drax adds and I narrow my eyes. My dress just so happened to be Adams favorite color. It's not like I made sure that my mother picked this gown and made sure I had the right kind of red. Because you know that would be weird.

"It's just a coincidence," I reply absentmindedly and he chuckled

"Yeah, right." Gaia approached and wiped her face.

"You are really sweating," I comment concerned

"I know, I've been eyeing Geoffrey, and he accidentally saw me. Help me," she whispers before crouching behind us. Geoffrey and his friends come over to the punch bowl with us.
