Alone

Chapter 4

Adrien was shocked on what he was hearing, "W-What?"

Marinette nodded as she glared at him slightly, "Yes Adrien, I never loved you and I regret ever being with you."

Adrien snapped out of the thoughts the thoughts that he were running threw his head, "What about Emma? She's innocent!"

Marinette rolled her eyes and glared at him, "Maybe she is, but I still hate both of you, I want another Chat Noir, I don't want it to be you."

Adrien growled at her comment, "Well deal with it, I'm not giving up my miraculous."

Marinette nodded and shrugged, "I know, that's why I leave you alone to fight akumas most of the time and just go to purify it."

Adrien clentched his fist as he growled, "They get stronger as the years go by, I can get killed."

Marinette rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest, "I don't care, I would get rid of both of you. She doesn't know I'm her mother so she won't come to me when your gone."

Adrien glared at the shorter girl, "I'll never leave the person that means the world to me."

Marinette chuckled as she looked at Adrien with a cold stare, "Just wait until she finds a boyfriend and they get married. She will leave you once she's married to be alone, like I left you."

Adrien wanted to just slap her but knew he couldn't do that. After all he still loved her for some reason. "She wouldn't do that!"

"That's how it is Adrien!" Marinette snapped.

"No it's not! I know she won't leave me alone!" Adrien snapped back. He just hoped that what he was saying was true.

"Just don't say I didn't tell you, Agreste," Marinette said as she walked away from the blonde.

Tikki popped her head out of Marinette's  bag and looked up at her, "You never loved Nathaniel, Marinette. Why did you lie?"

Marinette sighs as she looked down at Tikki, "I have to lie to him."

Tikki shook her head, "It's better to tell him the truth."

Marinette shook her head, "No, now please leave me alone."

Tikki sighed and hid once again, "Okay."

Once the day was over Adrien, Nino, and Emma were walking along the part. Adrien was lost in his thoughts as they walked.

"Can we get ice cream daddy?" Emma asked looking up at her father. Adrien didn't responde as he was still lost in his thought. "Daddy? Daddy!"

Once Adrien heard his daughter yell he flinched and looked down at her, "What is it princess?"

Nino looked at his friend in worry, "Are you okay dude?"

Adrien forced a smile and nodded, "I'm fine, you should go play Emma."

Emma shrugged and nodded, "Okay, I'll get ice cream later." She then ran over to her playground.

Nino turned his attention back to Adrien as he asked, "What's on your mind?"

Adrien let his smile drop as he looked down, "Marinette, she... She used me..."

Nino tilted his head slighlty in confusion, "She what?"

Adrien sighed as he looked back at Nino, "She wanted to make Nathaniel jealous by dating me, I just hope she's happy."

Nino layed his hand on his shoulder giving it a gentle squeeze, "I'm sorry Adrien."

Adrien shook his head and smiled sadly, "I'm fine as long as Emma is happy and safe. If something were to ever happen to me, please take care of her for me."

Nino let his hand drop to his side, "Don't say that Adrien, you will never leav-"

Adrien cut Nino off, "Just promise me, please?"

Nino sighs and nods, "Alright Adrien, I promise."
