Chapter 5

When I woke up, Liam wasn’t there next to me. I wasn’t that surprised. Maybe he went back home with Dani and Dakota. I wasn’t alone in bed though. Eva somehow crawled into bed with me, holding her favorite doll.

I groaned and gently pushed the little girl’s head off my shoulder. I slammed my hand on the snooze button on my alarm clock and swung my legs over my bed. I buried my head in my hands as I rubbed my eyes. For a minute I just stayed this way, face buried in my hands, everything that happened yesterday coming back to me. I knew I couldn’t stay this way forever, so I got up and headed towards the shower.

Unfortunately, this school had a uniform. I’m sure they would’ve given me special perks or something since I was Louis Tomlinson’s sister-in-law, but for the sake of ‘being a normal kid’ as Meg and Louis would say, I should wear it. Once I was done in the bathroom, putting on just a bit of makeup and perfume, I went back out and woke up the little ones. I’d question why Eva was in my room later.

“Did you have another nightmare?” I asked a bit tired, helping her button her little polo shirt while Logan took a shower.

“I was worried about Mum.” She whispered to me.

“Hey, I am too, but I think she’s gonna be okay.” I kissed her head and sent her downstairs, telling her to get some cereal. I could hear Logan singing in the shower, a little too loudly. I banged on the door. “Hush, Logan!”

“SORRY FOR PARTY ROCKING!” He yelled back and I rolled my eyes. LFMAO seemed like a joke to me, with their zebra tights and neon shirts and wild hair. I guessed that’s what they listened to in the states. American music was much different from the music here in the UK.

“Good morning!” I heard Louis say in a happy tone. How was he this happy? It was so early in the morning! He was cooking in the kitchen. I could smell the bacon and eggs cooking over by the stove. Eva was trying to reach for a cup at the top shelf but Liam had picked her up to help her get it.

“You spent the night?” I asked, sitting on a stool near the counter.

“Mmmhmm!” Liam kissed my forehead lightly. “Taking the kids to school today.”

I was always late if I rode with the little ones since they went to a different school as me. “Oh, so is Meg driving me today?”

“Nope.” Louis said popping the ‘p’. I sent them both confused looks.

 “Are you dri-”

“Nope. I drive too slow remember, Ellie?” He said, knowing I would always tease him about this.

“IT’S TRUE LOU AND YOU KNOW IT! You drive as slow as Harry talks!” They both laughed at my little joke.

“Speaking of the curly haired boy...” Liam said, looking around a smirk on his face.

My jaw dropped. “Wait, is he taking me today?!”

“I wanna see Uncle Haz!” Eva said, pouting a bit as Louis put some eggs on her plate.

“You will, sweetie. Eat up for now.” Louis said as Eva practically stabbed her fork into the eggs, making us all laugh. “He’ll be here in...ten minutes?”

Once Logan came down and had finished eating along with Eva, they went upstairs to brush their teeth. I decided to ask the question that had been bugging me for a while now. “Is Meg all right?” I asked quietly, sipping my orange juice.

“I don’t know...I’m worried about her. She didn’t say much, I just saw her writing in something. As soon as I walked in, she shut it and shoved it somewhere. I just hugged her, kissed her a bit-”
