"Good afternoon Malea. Sleep well?"
"Yep! What bout you?"
"I didn't sleep."
"Why not? That's not good for your body! Mommy told me so!"
"Haha, it's okay princess. It happens a lot."
"That doesn't make it okay. Dean, you need ta sleep."
Her stern tone made Death crack up a little.
"I'm sorry Malea, I will do better. Forgive me?"
"I'm not the one you need to say sowwy to. Say sowwy to your body!"
"I'm sorry, body." Death could barely repress the urge to snicker.
"That's better. Now go get some sleep!"
"I'll sleep later: I want to talk with you a bit longer."
"Okay, but promise me you will get some sleep?"
"I promise."
"Good! Now, you wanna hear bout my day?"
"I would love to hear about your day, princess."
"Hehe, so I got to sleep in because its Saturday, then I played with mommy outside in the leaves! I jumped in the leaf piles and they flew everywhere! It was so much fun, until it started raining. Then we went inside and watched TV."
"That is a very eventful day. I'm glad you had fun, Malea. What are you doing right now?"
"I'm taking a bath."
Her reply made Death flush, not being able to get the image out of his head.
"O-oh, I see. I guess I'll leave you to it."
"Aww, okay. Bye Dean!"
"Night, princess."
