North Carolina

I live in a small loft nearby the university, my father got it as a present for me. It has big windows, I like it but I am not always a big fan of it.

It's small but cozy, I like it a lot. The rent is cheap too, maybe it's haunted that's why it's cheap. Everything is convenient, I will be working in a cafe nearby. It's all good, I hope.

"I bought groceries for you, it should last you about two weeks." Dad says, opening the fridge door. "And I know I am not around, but no boys allowed upstairs." I roll my eyes at him, "Kayden is at Michigan."

"College is a time to have fun, Anne." Dad says for the thousandth time. "Are you asking me to cheat, Dad?"

He put his hands up, "if he like it... He should put a ring on it."

"I am 18, Dad." I remind him. "And I am 7!" Axel giggles. "Oh, I am going to miss you buddy." I put my hand on his shoulder.

"I miss you, Alex." Axel rest his head against my leg, "call me if you need anything." Dad says.

They will be staying here for awhile before going back, getting a tour around the school and North Carolina.

"Please have fun when I am not around." I walk my Dad and my brother out of my loft.

"Maybe during one of your school breaks, I would want to go hiking. How does that sound?"

I smile at my Dad, "it sounds great." I bend over and pinch Axel's chubby cheeks.

"Take care okay."

I get to my first class the next day. It's exciting, I want to write notes and make it neat and tidy.

I am majoring in psychology and english.

Both of this courses has this familiar darn face. He walks up the stairs, his head hanging low. His hair is in a mess, but he still looks cute. I think he knows what he is doing with his hair.

"Fancy seeing you here." Cameron put his notebook down on the table. "I thought you would be in second year." I say, "I studied in high school for another year..." Cameron shrugs.

"I came for your graduation and you didn't came to mine." I roll my eyes at him, this boy is ridiculous. "We don't know each other."

"Well, my sister is friends with your boyfriend." Cameron taking out a pen, I ignore him.

"Very good friends." He added.

I shake my head, it's been three months. He still hasn't let go the fact that Kayden is cheating on me. Maybe he is, I don't know.

"Where's your sister enrolled at?" I ask, he looks at me, surprised. He stare at me with his blue eyes before answering, "Michigan State."

"It's a big campus." He quickly added. "Duke is a big campus too." I then point out.

"People call this fate, yknow?" Cameron winks at me. He's playful.

"Shut up."

Michigan

I have a long weekend ahead. So I decided to surprise Kayden at his campus. We haven't been talking much or been skyping a lot because of our hectic schedule, I miss him a lot.

I open his dorm room, and find it empty. Maybe he's at practice.

I sit on his chair, in front of his messy study table. Looks like he has been studying a lot.

"Oh my god, hey!" I stand up at the familiar voice, "Kayden." I light up at the sight of him.

Then I see Melissa standing next to him.

My smile disappeared.

"Why is she here?" I ask.

"She came to get some notes that I have." Kayden says, walking towards his table.

I moved myself and stood beside her, she has beautiful brown wavy hair and gorgeous brown eyes.

She don't look like Cameron, not even one bit.

I then noticed a condom wrapper on the floor.

"You've been cheating on me?" I blurted out.

Kayden froze, the both of them became silent.

"Why are you not answering?" I stare blankly at him.

"It's time she know." Melissa mutters, I turn to her and punch her square in the face. "Hey! Calm down!" Kayden grab both my arms.

"No, don't touch me!" I push Kayden away with all my might, "how long?" I stare at him, breathing heavily.

"How long, Kayden?!" I screamed.

"Very long..." Kayden mutters.

"I am late." I then gulp, "for what? Class?"

"On my period." I murmured.

"Anne..."

"It's Alexis." My vision became blurry, "I need to go, have a good life." I push past Melissa and got to the parking lot.

I see Kayden's shiny black car.

I keyed the words on the sides of the doors, C H E A T E R.

"Hey, what are you doing?!"

I don't know who was it, I just took off back to North Carolina.

When I got home. I fell onto the couch and cried.
