After The Surgery

Shaw

Shaw and Samuel walked into your room and sat down next to your bed as you were still asleep.

Shaw-''I'm so sorry, Y/N.''

Shaw took your hand and kissed it.

Shaw-''I promised you that I was going to keep you safe and then....this happens.''

Shaw rested his forehead on your hand as he held it tight.

Shaw-''I'm sorry.''

Then you woke up and slowly opened your eyes. Your vision went from blurry to clear in a moment as you looked at the ceiling.

You-''John?''

You whispered making Shaw look at you.

Shaw-''Y/N.''

You looked over at Shaw.

You-''John, where are we?''

Shaw-''We're at the hospital.''

Then you slowly remembered what happened.

You-''Are you ok, John? Where is Burke? Did he hurt you? Did he hurt Samuel?''

Shaw-''Y/N, calm down. You're safe here.''

You calmed down.

Shaw-''I'm alright and Samuel is ok. You'll never have to worry about Burke again.''

You-''Is he dead?''

Shaw-''Yes. But don't think about all of that, sweetie. All that matters is that you're going to be fine.''

You-''I'm just glad you're ok.''

Shaw-''Thanks to you. You took a bullet for me.''

You-''Some people are worth taking a bullet for.''

You and Shaw smiled and Shaw kissed you.

Shaw-''Thank you.''

Shaw kissed your forehead.

Nick

You and Jay walked into Nick's room and he was already awake.

You-''Hey, how are you feeling?''

Nick-''I'm good.''

You kissed Nick's cheek.

Jay-''Aren't you in any pain?''

You-''It's the medication.''

Nick-''When can we go home, Y/N?''

You-''You need to stay here and rest where the doctors can keep an eye on you for a while.''

Nick-''But I have you to keep an eye on me.''

You-''True. But I can't work and be home at the same time. Now, stay here before I handcuff you to the bed.''

Jay-''I'd listen to her, brother.''

Nick-''Alright, I'll stay.''

You-''Good.''

You kissed Nick.

You-''I'll be right back.''

You left the room.

Nick-''How is she doing, Jay?''

Jay-''She's doing great. I'm impressed with how she's handling all this.''

Nick-''Why's that?''

Jay-''Y/N was in the surgery room during your surgeries.''

Nick-''She helped the doctors?''

Jay-''Yeah, I'm so proud of her.''

Nick-''Wow.''

Nick smiled as he was thinking how amazing you are and that you helped to save his life.

Jake

You were sitting in bed drinking water when Jake walked in. You looked up at him as he stepped next to your bed.

Jake-''Hi.''

You-''Hi, can I help you?''

You smiled.

Jake-''I just er....I just wanted to see how you're doing.''

You-''The doctor said I'm going to be alright.''

Jake-''That's great.''

You smiled.

Jake-''Well, I'm sorry if I'm bothering you.''

You-''You're not bothering me at all. I don't have any family or friends in town because I'm new here.''

Jake-''Well, I hope after all that's happened....I hope you don't move out of town.''

You-''Thanks. Getting shot isn't going to scare me that easily.''

Jake-''I know.''

Jake smiled and you looked at him a bit confused.

You-''What do you mean?''

Jake-''Oh, sorry. It's just that you....''

Jake paused.

Jake-''There's a lot of good people in town if you ever need a friend.''

You-''Thank you.''

Jake-''I better go.''

Jake turned around and walked to the door.

You-''Wait.''

Jake looked at you.

You-''Did you save me?''

Jake-''I brought you to the hospital but the doctors saved you.''

You-''Thank you for bringing me. Guess you're one of the good people in town, huh?''

Jake-''I guess I am.''

You-''What's your name?''

Jake-''Jake Carter.''

You-''Thank you, Jake Carter.''

Jake-''You're welcome.''

You and Jake smiled.

Jake-''Bye, Y/N.''

You-''Bye, Jake.''

Jake left your room. Then you realised Jake called you by your name.

You-''How did he know my name? I never told him my name.''

You thought about it as Jake wondered how he was going to try and make you remember him.
