"DEAN!"

As soon as Death heard her voice, he knew she was crying. If he had a heart, it might as well be breaking.

"What's wrong Malea?"

"M-my brother, mommy said h-he's g-gone! And he's n-not coming back!"

"Oh, I see. I'm sorry Malea."

"W-what am I going to do now? Holden always protected me."

"Listen to me Malea, you are a strong girl that doesn't need to be protected because you can protect yourself. Isn't that right?"

"I can try, but I can't stand up to my daddy. Thats against the bible!"

"You're a christian?"

"I am a Catholic!"

"Same thing. Now-"

"No it's not the same thing! Christian is the overall of believing in God, but Catholic is different than Protestant by many ways."

"Wow. Okay, I'm guessing you're a frequent at Sunday school for that attitude."

"Yep!"

"Well, I think there should be a rule in the bible not to hit your kids. Did you know parental abuse can kill kids?"

"You're really saying that to a six year old?" Lucifer questioned as he flipped through the New York Times from 1775. Death rolled his eyes

"What does abuse mean?"

"This shit is gorgeous!" Lucifer laughed, and Death ran his hand over his face.

"Abuse is when a grown up beats another grown up or kid repeatedly. Like what your dad does to you every few days."

"So I'm getting abused?"

"Yes. You know, you can go to the authorities-"

"Dude, she's just a little kid. No one will believe her, most kids these days think a spank on the butt is abuse." Lucifer cut in, not even looking up from his paper. Death huffed in annoyance.

"I don't know who that is, but he's probably right. No one listens to little kids anymore."

"What makes you say that?"

"I told my auntie a while ago and my daddy said he didn't do it. So auntie thought I was imagining it."

"I'm sorry, Malea."

"Its not your fault. At least you listen to me..."

Death paused, thinking about how to get passed this issue. "Don't tell me you're-" Death didn't let Lucifer finish.

"How about I come with you to the authorities? They'd at least have to check out our claim, don't you agree?"

"B-but we've never met! And I don't want to get my daddy in trouble! That's not nice."

"That just hot a whole lot harder, didn't it?" Lucifer smirked.

"Do you want to keep getting abused, or do you want it to stop?"

"I-I..."

Malea's voice shook with uncertainty as she pondered her decision. She didn't want to hurt her daddy like he hurt her, but she didn't want to be abused anymore either.

"Malea?"

"Umm... can we wait to see if he stops? If he doesn't, then I'll tell."

"Said every abuse victim ever." Lucifer muttered.

"If that's what you want."

"It is, pwease."

"Alright. I'll wait, but you have to tell me every day what happens, alright?"

"Thank you thank you thank you thank you! Dean you're the best!"

"Get some rest, okay? We'll talk tomorrow, right?"

"Right! Nighty night Dean!"

"Good night, Malea."
