Chapter 1

I smiled a little as I put the key into the hole and twisted it to the right. It took a few tries but eventually the door opened up. I walked into the house and expected it to be quiet. I got home much earlier than Eva and Logan, who were in still school. I always walked home. Louis might've been at the studio with the boys. Meg probably tagged along. I liked having the house to myself. It gave me time to do the things I wanted. I usually blasted my music and danced around, hoping the neighbor's would like my playlist. Once, they liked my music so much they invited the cops to come listen too! I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt someone's hand grab my shoulder. I screamed and turned around quickly, reaching in my pocket for my pepper spray. My hand was shaking as I pointed it at the figure.

"WHOA! WHOA! WHOA!" He screamed, moving the spray bottle away from his face.

"Liam!" I punched my older brother in the arm as he laughed at me. He still teased me a lot, like any big brother would. I placed my hand over my heart, feeling like it was about to beat right out of my chest. I stuffed the spray back into my backpack. "You scared me! I thought you were like a murderer or something! W-What are you doing here?"

"You're not happy to see your big brother?" Liam fake pouted.

"You know what I mean." I tossed my red backpack on the couch in the living room. I was too lazy to go put it up in my room. I had a long day. I really didn't like going to school. Everyone bombarded me with questions about Meg or Louis or the boys. It was hard to tell who my real friends were. I wanted to be home-schooled, but Louis and Meg both agreed that I should at least try to live a normal life.

"Well, Meg and Louis are out on a little date and Dani is picking up the little ones from school so I'm here to babysit you." He poked my nose and I groaned a bit.

"I'm 16! I don't need a stupid babysitter!"

"I'm not stupid! And you love having me babysit!" He wrapped his arms around me, kissing my cheek. I couldn't help but smile as I held my brothers arms. "So how was school?"

"Blech. Don't even say the 's' word. I have a ton of homework I don't even wanna do."

"Forget your homework then, let's watch a movie."

"Meg's gonna kill you!"

"I'm older than her and we're watching a movie!" He said running to the living room. I kneeled down by Liam who was looking through all our movies in the shelves. We still had some of the childish ones since Eva and Logan were still little kids.

"Li, we always watch Toy Story...How about this one?"

He chuckled, looking at my selection. "Your sister cried watching this."

"Meg's a softie. I'm not going to cry, though." I said proudly, putting the Lion King in the DVD slot. Liam and I sat on the couch, snuggling up together. It was nice to spend some time with my brother. He was usually busy, either taking care of Dakota, or with the boys at the studio. They still sang, just not as much as they did when they were younger. Liam started playing with my curly hair as I rested my head on his lap and put my feet on the arm rests of the couch. Suddenly, I sat up seeing the hyenas running in the canyon. "No, no, no, no....This is a Disney movie! They can't do that!" I started sniffling a bit. "T-They can't k-kill Mufasa!"

"And you said you weren't going to cry." Liam said, poking my cheek.

"I'm not crying!" The scene changed to Simba, just trying to wake up his dad. He's not sleeping Simba. He's not sleeping. Oh gosh, here they come. Here come the tears. "I'm not crying. I'm j-just impersonating a fountain!" I lied making Liam laugh.
