They walked together down a road, and George pointed out a few places to her - favourite coffee shops, clubs, clothing stores and the likes. The street was perfectly lit and he couldn't help but look at how beautiful she seemed that night. He had to admit, he had never heard of her before she replied to his tweet. He hadn't even seen any of her videos; he just saw her sub count and that she had a few mutuals and decided that she qualified for being his flat mate.

"Look, I'm sorry about how the guys were acting tonight. They're never like that," he frowned, running his fingers through his hair awkwardly. They stopped in the middle of the empty path with the dark nights sky behind them.

"It's okay, I don't expect them to instantly warm up to me or anything," she responded, slight sadness tainting her words. George couldn't help but feel even worse upon hearing her tone. Silence fell between them, with neither knowing what to say.

"So, do you want to get a drink or something?" George asked, looking at the Wetherspoons in front of them.
"Just one, I'm a lightweight." giggled Eva, and they walked into the pub.

A few drinks later, Eva was somehow more tipsy than George, despite drinking about half as much. The awkwardness seemed to melt away more and more as they drank. They laughed and chatted like old friends, shared secrets, the likes.

"Eva, I think we need to go back," George stood up, drinking the last few drops of his drink. He put the glass down and helped her up, supporting her as she stumbled slightly. Smiling at her, he brushed a few stray hairs out of her face and together they walked down the street back to their building. They made quiet smalltalk, ignoring their surroundings. It was as if nothing existed but them.

In that moment, on that street, it was only Eva and George.
