ASHLEY

"Yes, she's sleeping right now... Yes, Ian. Okay, I'll tell her. Thanks. Alright, man. You, too. Bye." I watched Isaac pace around the room.

"Isaac, what is it?" I mumbled, getting out of bed.

"Good news." Isaac smiled.

"Oh my God! Thank you, Jesus!" I cried, jumping into his arms.

"I'm so happy to see that smile, again."

"Come on, we have to go to the hospital." I yanked his arm.

"Like this?" He pointed to my outfit.

"Who cares if I look ugly? We're going to the hospital, Isaac." I rolled my eyes.

"I mean," Isaac walked closer to me, pulling down my shorts, "it's too short."

"Ugh, whatever... You don't think my mother's accident is going to make me forget about the girl, do you? I'm not listening to a cheating husband, Isaac. If you're not coming, I'll go alone."

Isaac gave in and we immediately drove to the hospital.

"Ian! Is mom resting?" I yelled at Ian, running to him from one end of the corridor.

"Slow down, sis. She's in great shape right now. And you're lucky because she just woke up."

I smiled at him as I entered her room.

"Mom!" I cried, joyfully, running to hug her lightly.

"Ashley..." She smiled, slowly.

"Are you okay, mom?" Tears were threatening to fall any moment.

"I'm okay, Ashley. Don't worry, anymore, honey. How's Isaac?"

"He's good. We're good." I lied, not wanting to upset my mom.

"Babe?" Isaac walked inside, "I'm gonna grab some fries. You want some?"

"Sure." I nodded.

If he wasn't a cheater, he'd be a great husband.

Anyone who brings me food is great.

"There is something I need to tell you, my beautiful daughter..."
