Adeline's P.O.V

I wasn't surprised that Mrs. Lodge had decided to run for mayor. What Archie did made me even more upset. He decided to choose the Lodge family over us.

"Adeline, I need that journal back," Archie told me. I looked up at him in confusion.

"You said to keep it safe," I told him.

"Yeah. I know but I need it back now," Archie told me. I frowned at him.

"I burned it," I lied to him.

"You did what?"

"I burned it. Got rid of it. Now, go join your new family," I said before pushing him out of my room.

The next morning, I walked downstairs to have some breakfast. As I looked through, I heard someone walk over. I looked to see Archie there.

"Hey, Archie," I said.

"Adeline, are you sure you destroyed that notebook?" Archie asked me.

"Yes. Why does that matter?" I asked him.

"It's just, whatever was in there had to be destroyed now," Archie told me. I stared at him in confusion before rolling my eyes.

"Well I just saved you the trouble," I lied to him.

"Adeline-"

"Look Archie. Veronica wasn't your first girlfriend nor will she be your last. I think you're sucking up to her and her family a little too much," I told him before leaving the room.
