Chapter 31: Man To Man

Jungkook's POV

After seeing those photos from dispatch I felt uneasy. Her smile was so different. It's the kind of smile that I've always wanted to give her.

Was I at the losing end now? I've always noticed their bond and at some instances I felt jelous about it.

Jimin Hyung has always been kind and caring. He always goes the extra mile for anyone.

I never thought that Jimin hyung and I would end up liking the same woman. Yoojung falls under Jimin Hyung's ideal type, a cute and nice girl.

As for me, I've always said that IU sunbaenim was my ideal type. Well if you look at things carefully, Yoojung is technically like IU subaenim... Both are cute and talented on their own way. IU Sunbaenim was my crush. But my feelings for Yoojung is more than that. 

I don't want to have ill feelings towards Jimin Hyung. More than being a friend, we treated each other as family. I trust that we're both mature individuals who can accept defeat and be happy for the other.

Today was such a heavy day for me. I think a bottle or two of alcohol is a good way to end the day. I went to the kitchen to get soju from our alcohol stash.

I was opening the bottle of soju when Jimin Hyung appeared.

"Mind if I join you?" He asked.

"No, go ahead." I responded.

At first there was an awkward silence. No one spoke. We both know how we feel about Yoojung without even saying it out loud.

I decided to break the silence and address the giant elephant in the room.

"I won't back down. Not until she chooses anyone" I said. We both know what I'm talking about

We are now having a staring battle.

"I knew you would say that" he said with a small smile

"I hope this is not just a game or a challenge for you to win" he continued, the smile gone, his face dead serious.

"It's not. It's different. She's different" I said and broke our eye contact.

"Good, cause she's more than that" He said. And downed half a bottle of soju.

"I don't want this to affect our relationship, I hope we can be mature about this" He said again. He offered his hand for a hand shake

"Of course Hyung" I said and took his hand.

He smiled then passed another shot of soju to me.

After that we changed the topic and we're back to our usual selves.

I'm glad that I had this talk with Jimin Hyung. At least we now know where we both stand.
