Me and august were getting married this weekend plus it's my side of the family , family reunion . This was his first time meeting my family and things were going well so far .
" help us , help us please ! Help us " my aunt said running through the gate
" what's wrong ? What's the matter ? " my granny asked my cousin Jackie
" I'm fine granny " she raised her hand taking a seat
" she's not fine . she's tired and she's exhausted . and she's pregnant " my aunt Vicky blurted out
" thanks a lot aunt Vicky , I really didn't want everybody to find out like that " Jackie sniffed out

" aww , you pregnant baby " my other aunt kat asked
" come ova hea' you messy as hell " my granny told Vicky
" well the doctor is saying she's threatening to miscarry . Now you need to get some rest and Kevin needs to get a job honey " Vicky told everybody
Jackie shook her head " Vicky please "
" no Jackie , come on this needs to be said . He needs to get a job " I finally spoke up
" McDonald's is a place he could work , hold on lemme see ... um " Vicky started thinking of more places
August came outside and turned his head in confusion .
" Lisa ! " she jumped and turned around " would you shut up and mind your business . Dis' has nothing to do with us . "
" wait a minute this is my family and I know how to talk to them so chill " she put her hand in his face

" I'm sorry august but he needs to be a man and help my cousin out "
He shook his head and rubbed his nose " yeah you gon' be sorry . we gon' go ina house and talk about dis , like now "
" well I'm not done " she put her hands on her hips

She stomped her way into the house and he followed right behind her

They looked at her like she was crazy
When we got upstairs alone me and august finally had some privacy to talk .
" look august I'm not a kid okay , you don't know my family "
" women I'll knock yo fucking head off don't chu ever talk ta me like dat again " he jumped at her
" august you don't understand " I yelled

I ran in the house holding my eye . That was the first time august ever hit me and weren't even married yet ... should we even be getting married if it's going to be like this
