Sleep is the Anti~Venom

Well, it's a little past midnight,

And I thought maybe we could talk.

Stay up late, until the sun peeks,

Maybe even go for a walk.

We could visit the old park;

Share a kiss on moon-stained swings.

We can isolate the problems,

Maybe give them wings.

Or shove them into the walls.

We can illuminate the happiness,

And give it our all.

The walls can keep the secrets;

They can not speak.

But can you keep a secret?

I'll guess we'll see.

Fly with me on metal bars,

Racing the getaway cars.

Starless train stations;

Reinvent your motivations.

Let the photographs collect dust,

And leave the past behind.

Come with me to the lonely swings,

And open up your mind.

It's getting a little lighter now;

The world is starting to wake up.

I suppose we should get some rest,

And let sleep remove the lies like make-up.

Go to sleep, my darling,

The sun has nearly risen.

The sunlight isn't poison,

But the word spoken in it is.
