Tell Me

Tell me you can see me,

when I'm floating through the sky.

Tell me you can hear me,

when I contract a silent cry.

Tell me you can touch me,

when I don't feel real.

Tell me you can catch my scent,

when I pass you on the street, deal?

Tell me a surprising memory,

and I will tell you one, you can keep it.

Tell me something no one knows,

and I promise to keep it a secret.

Tell me all your woes,

your foes,

things that curl your toes.

Tell me a secret,

I'll put it in my pocket;

Forever, I'll keep it.

Tell me about how your world,

can be just one person;

Tell me how one person,

can destroy your whole world.

Tell me your virtues.

Tell me your vices.

Tell me all the things,

that always try to hurt you.

Tell me your pains,

and help treat mine.

Tell me your theories,

you'll learn mine in time.

Tell me your faults.

Tell me your fears.

Tell me you can hear me,

when I'm not even near.

Tell me what it means,

when everything is dreamed.

Tell me how your dreams,

never show what they mean.

Tell me your aspirations.

Tell me who you'll follow.

Tell me you have inspiration,

when everyone else is hollow.

Tell me you'll be strong,

when I believe you're lost.

Tell me you can save yourself,

when the world treats you wrong.

Tell me you'll save the world,

when everyone has turned.

Tell me you can see me,

through the air that's burned.

Tell me you can hear me,

when I yell and don't care.

Tell me you can grab me,

when I am as thin as air.

Tell me you can catch my scent,

when I am really elsewhere.
