[07] Seizing the Secret Suitor

CONFUSION AND questions flooded my mind after Delvin declared his intent to trap the unidentified secret admirer of Galswintha. Papaano kaya kami makakapaghukay ng patibong kung hindi naman namin kilala ang kalaban?

"Ano'ng sinasabi mo?" I asked, crossing my arms in front of my chest, hands on the elbows.

Delvin glared at me, etching a wide grin on his lips—the sign of his evil plans. Ano na naman kaya ang umiikot sa malikot niyang utak? Mahirap kasi ang sitwasyon namin na wala kaming suspek. Hindi naman siguro niya balak i-trap ang lahat ng kalalakihan ng buong unibersidad.

I'm not the type who likes doing a lot of physical works after all. Kung puwede lang talaga akong pumili ng role ko sa aming club, mas gusto ko sanang maging the brain on the chair. However, Delvin is always doing the shot call for us.

"Oo nga, Dean, bakit hindi mo pa sabihin sa 'min kung ano'ng plano mo," Lora insisted, glaring at his so-called brother whom she christened with a nickname.

Delvin nodded to her. "'Di ba't sinabi ni Sebastian na naglalaman ng sinseridad at aggressiveness ang handwriting ng bubwit?"

Tumango-tango si Lora habang tinutungkod ang dalawang kamay sa kama, few inches backward to support her seating position. "Ano naman kung sinabi niya 'yon?"

Napabuntong-hininga na lamang si Delvin, tila na-disappoint siya kay Lora dahil hindi niya pa nakuha ang gusto niyang sabihin—kahit naman ako. Bakit kasi hindi pa niya sabihin? We just darted a what-do-you-mean gaze at our clubmate. "Iba-bash natin si Galswintha para lumabas ang knight in shining armor niya, or ang keyboard warrior na magpoprotekta sa reyna sa digital war."

"Bakit kailangang i-bash si G? Paki-explain nga ulit," kamot-ulong tanong ni Lora.

"You are the fortress that I must protect. I will do anything for your sake, he said right?" Delvin asked. "So, kailangan niyang patunayan na 'di lang siya puro salita. Action speakers louder than words, ika nga ng nakakarami."

"You are expecting him to defend Galswintha if we mudsling her name?" I asked for clarification. "I have my doubts on this plan of yours. I'm not sure if magiging proper application siya ng analysis ko. Besides, hindi ako professional kaya hindi credible ang assessment ko."

"We're just trying," Delvin quipped, pinching his right cheeks. "Aware naman ako na book-level palang ang pagkakaintindi mo sa psychology theories, studies, etcetera, pero sayang pa rin kung 'di natin mapakikinabangan ang insight mo."

I sighed, seeing how determine he is to initiate his plan. Well, this should be better than doing nothing. If it works, Lady Luck surely hands her favor to our club.

"What if he uses a dummy account?" Lora asked.

"He won't use a dummy account," Delvin and I said at the same time.

Delvin flicked his brows towards me, signalling me to continue the explanation. I sighed, "Sabi ko nga kanina, he wanted to be noticed which is written on the third letter. So, he will use his real account. Ang totoong problema rito ay ang pagsasalang sa maraming magko-comment."

"Oo nga, G is pretty famous and well-respected by the student body. Siguradong hindi lang isang keyboard warrior ang lalabas sa lungga. Baka nga buong Mondragon High ang makalaban natin," patango-tangong dagdag ni Lora.

"Are you scared to offend the Mondragonians?" Delvin pouted, teasing Lora.

"Nagpapatawa ka Dean? You know na pinanganak ako sa mundo para asarin ang mga tao," Lora vented, jerking her thumb at her blackboard chest.
