chapter 8: jealousy

About an hour and a half later, practice was finally over,

"what do you want to eat, y/n ?" Kai asked you, you knew he purposely asked loud enough for Jungkook to hear him,

"uh ... anything is fine " you answered and packed your bag from the ground,

You felt Jungkook staring at you as you started walking to the changing room,

'what is he staring at ?' you asked in your mind,

When he made sure you were no longer near them, Jungkook walked to Kai and stopped in front of him,

He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall with a smirk on his face, "you look pathetic you know !" Jungkook suddenly mocked,

Kai didn't look up at him as he was sitting on the grass, filling some paper works,

"yeah yeah.. keep trying, hopefully she won't see you as a brother anymore !" Jungkook just wanted to make sure that you and Kai are still just friends, you seemed so close to each other and it frustrated him,

Kai stood up and smirked back at Jungkook,

"I don't even have to try anymore" Kai let out and his smirk grew bigger when he saw how hard Jungkook was trying to seem not affected by what he said,

" ... you'll never get what you want !" Jungkook glared at him,

" she only has me, she trusts me, she counts on me and we're so close ! what else do I need ?" Kai irritated him,

"she doesn't love you .... and she will never do !" Jungkook responded even though he wasn't sure of it anymore,

Kai laughed out and patted his shoulder, "we'll see about that" he said and walked away, leaving Jungkook standing alone,

Kai was enjoying making Jungkook angry, he hated him, he was jealous of him from the first day they met, he envied him for all he was and had, even though Jungkook thought he was his friend at that time,

Kai thought that since Jungkook doesn't feel the same way for you, you will move on, and he'll take the opportunity to make you fall in love with him instead, he'll do anything to get that,

And Jungkook thought that Kai was the one who sent you to ask him if he feels something towards you, that's why he denied it,

Both of them were unaware of the fact that you knew about the bet, Kai doesn't remember that he has told you everything you needed to know,

" are you done ?" Kai asked from outside the changing room,

"yeah, two more minutes !"

" okay.. I'll be waiting in my car !"

"okay !"

A moment later, you left the changing room and before you could go anywhere, you felt a hand around your wrist,

You quickly turned around, thinking that Kai wanted to scare you but you saw Jungkook standing there instead,

"what the- " you pulled your hand away with a frown, even though you already had butterflies in your stomach,

Since you didn't know what to do or what to say, you started walking away before he could see how nervous you were,

But he held your wrist again, tighter this time,

You looked at him, surprised and confused, "what do you want-"

"stay away from him, don't trust him too much .." he spoke calmly,

You kept silently staring at him, not understanding the sudden care,

"... he'll just hurt you" he added and you quickly pulled your hand away again,

You remembered that Kai said the same thing about him too, 'why do they say that about each other ?' you asked yourself,

"he's my friend ! how dare you say that about him !" you tried to be firm,

"DON'T DEFEND HIM IN FRONT OF ME !!" he suddenly yelled,

Your eyes kept wide as you stared at each other, he was so mad, 'but why even ?'

"y/n he's not the good friend you think he is, don't be fooled by him, don't be stupid to believe him-"

"I'm stupid because I'm listening to this ! why would you even care ?!" you angrily turned your head and walked away, it wasn't a question, it was more of a fact that you stated,

"Y/N-AH !!" he shouted your name, his voice making you freeze in your spot.
