chapter 4: beginning

Spring break was over and you all had to go back to your busy school days,

Things between you and Jungkook also went back to how it was, him ignoring you...again,

If there's one thing I want to know, it's the reason behind this,

Why does he hate me ? Just why ?

I remember when i first came here,  we were getting along so well,

We even went on a date,

....if i may consider it a date,

He was the only guy i talked to and the only guy i hang out with after school,

Which was a bit odd because it felt like the guys from this school were avoiding me on purpose,

But whatever, who complains while having Jungkook with them, right ?

However, he suddenly became cold with me, just when Kai started talking to me,

At first, i thought Jungkook got jealous which made me so happy, thinking he feels the same way i do, but i was wrong,

When people get jealous over their loved ones, they try to protect them, they let the others know that they belong to them,

That's not what Jungkook did,

Maybe he lost interest in me or maybe i wasn't what he expected,

Maybe that hurt him or maybe i shouldn't have let Kai get close to me,

I kept looking for excuses but actually none was valid enough to make a good reason,

One thing he didn't know, is that i liked him, a lot, and he didn't know how bad it feels when all of a sudden, your crush starts hating you,

I just wanted to know if he was just playing with me or something had happened,

I didn't dare to ask him though,

But since i didn't know on what base to judge, i couldn't hate him,

Of the multitude of what I was thinking about him, i even started feeling weird stuff whenever he's around....like an idiot,

Butterflies in my stomach when he looks at me, tears in my eyes when he glares at me and a burning pain in my chest when he talks and laughs with other girls,

Why did i end up loving the one i know i'll never have ?

Seeing him everyday before during and after school didn't help either,

Everyone bragging about him all day long, teachers mentioning him every two seconds, fangirls screaming everytime he walks by, and just me never stopping the thought of him from distracting me,

After practice, your coach gathered you all to talk about the upcoming competitions,

" ...you're in a competition but you're a team too, it didn't start yet so help each other, share what you know with each other, and finally, do your best, you all worked hard and no matter your scores, if you give it all you can, you will be proud of yourself ! "

You all cheered up, clapping, when he finished his speech,

Your eyes unconsciously flickered to Jungkook at the same time he did,

Your heart skipped a beat,

'What an effect you had on me Jeon Jungkook'

You both didn't look away,

You tried to understand what he was trying to transmit through his eyes,

It was not just a stare, and it wasn't cold.

You tossed on your bed over and over again as you started getting irritated by the annoying sound of notifications from your phone on the nightstand,

You stretched your arm, reaching it and lazyly checked it,

It was 1:32 am,

"WhAt tHe HecK.." you whined,

You had 11 unread messages from Kai,

You sat up straight as you thought something bad happened,

"Am i still asleep or what ?" you asked yourself still staring at the messages,

"Is he drunk ?!"

Another notification startled you and made you immediately look at your phone,

You cringed but at the same time it was funny reading his 'drunk messages'

"Where are you Kim Jongin ?" you asked yourself again and pressed the call button,

"Hello ? Kai where are you ?"

It was the first time you witness this, he's always careful when he drinks outside, he's always responsible and hearing how funny he sounds when he's drunk....wait... 'did he just say open the door ?'

Your eyes widened and asked him "what door ? Hello ? Kai ? Where are you ? Hello---"

'Ohno' you heard a loud knocking on the front door and you immediately ran to open it before your mom does,

Woops,

Too late,

Your sleepy frowning mother opened it and recognized him,

"Coach Kim ? Are you ok ?" she asked with concern, but you knew she was frustrated to see a drunk young man laying on the ground like a...like a...drunk young man.
