you're riding in the same jeep with them, there'd always been something between you and thomas that you couldn't quite figure out.
"when are you gonna tell her, dude?" frypan whispered in his ear from behind him, newt agreed as he glanced between thomas and you.
you were busy staring at the passing scenery as thomas stared at you for a moment, his lips flickering into a smile.
as the jeep came to a stop, everyone stepped outside for a short break before continuing their journey.
thomas walked over to you and brushed your arm slightly, "hey, y/n."
"hey, thomas." you smiled, looking up at the boy.
"so, uh... there's something i've been wanting to tell you for a while." he said.
"sure, what is it?" you asked, looking at him curiously.
"i'm going to come right out and say it, y/n... i'm in love with you— i know there's always been something between us and i'm tired of hiding my feelings for you." he admitted, his honey-brown eyes glanced over your features slowly, waiting for your response.
"i'm in love with you too," you said softly, "i just didn't want to ruin our friendship if you didn't feel the same way."
his smile grew wider as you spoke, "you'd never ruin our friendship..."
his sentence was interrupted when frypan and newt ambled over, "so did you tell her?!"
"guys!" thomas exclaimed.
"so you didn't...?" newt asked.
"he did." you replied, as the two boys stared at you they burst into applause.
"finally! he's been pining over telling you for months!" frypan said exasperatedly.
"guys, come on." thomas sighed, rolling his eyes.
"sorry, mate. we're just happy for you two." newt shrugged.
"alright guys... and girl, back to the jeep!" jorge yelled.
as you walked back to the jeep thomas reached for your hand and intertwined his fingers with yours, a simple gesture that made you feel warm inside.
