their food comes out and their waiter hands mia a plate of steak and sebastian a plate of pasta.

"who the fuck eats spaghetti on a date. that's like the worst date food." i say.

"can you chill." camden says.

"ooo, mias steak looks good. that's like one of the most expensive things on the menu. sebastian got the moneyyyssss." tyler smacks his lips and i roll my eyes.

after 30 minutes have passed, mia and sebastian have finished their food and we're on our last few bites.

"i'm... so... full." camden says as he slowly brings his fork towards his mouth.

before he can put it in his mouth, tyler grabs his fork and eats the last bite.

"aw man, i knew i should've ordered the lobster." tyler chews.

"you bitch." camden snaps.

i laugh at them and turn my attention back to mia.

she suddenly giggles at something he says that probably wasn't funny.

she's so cute.

"hey, i forgot to tell you." sebastian says.

"yeah?"

"you look beautiful tonight." sebastian places his hand across the table and holds hers.

"ay! no touchy!" i say a little too loud.

they both snap their heads at our table.

oh shit.

"jack?" mia gets up.

FUCK.

camden and tyler lower their heads behind the booth and i turn away.

"guys, what the hell." mia comes to our table with sebastian behind her.

"mia? oh what. heeeyyyyyy. what are you doing here?" i act surprised.

"are you watching us?" she asks.

"no! why would you even say that." i say.

"tyler why'd you tell them where i was?" she folds her arms.

"jack said he would pay for my meal." tyler raises his hands up in defense.

mia looks back at me and furrows her eyebrows.

"i'm sorry but who are you?" sebastian steps in.

"you know, you were a lot more attractive until you opened your mouth-"

"that's my roommate." mia cuts me off. "but that doesn't even matter. you shouldn't be here, jack."

"you can't prove that we're here to stalk you." i say.

mia reaches over and rips off camden and tyler's sunglasses.

"who the fuck wears sunglasses inside?" she snaps.

"i do. i have sensitive eyes." camden says.

"can you take me home?" mia says to sebastian.

"i'll take you home. i'm going there anyway." i say.

"no! you're pissing me off." she says.

"you should just go with him. there's no point in arguing." sebastian sighs.

he leans over and kisses her on the temple, which makes me clench my jaw.

"i'll text you okay?" he says and she nods.

i pay the bill and we all go inside my car. the car ride home was filled with silence.

camden and tyler go back to their apartment, leaving mia and i alone.

once we walk in she immediately darts to her room.

"mia." i grab her wrist.

she turns around and snaps her wrist out of my hand.

"you completely ruined my date, jack!"

"you weren't supposed to see me." i sigh.

"you weren't supposed to be there."

"i was looking after you, mia."

"you don't have to look after me. i'm not a child." she says.

"why do you even like sebastian anyway. he seems so boring."

"you don't even know him. and this ain't even about him! it's about you following me! why would you even do that?"

"because... i didn't like the fact that you were with him."

"we've had this conversation already, jack." she sighs.

"fuck the conversation we had."

"what?"

i come closer to her and put my finger under her chin.

"wouldn't you rather be on a date with me?" i ask, looking down at her lips.

"you're so cocky." she folds her arms.

i lean in towards her but she turns her head to the side.

"no. you don't get to kiss me." she states.

"okay. whatever you say." i walk past her to the living room.

"you're annoying." she huffs and walks to her room.
