Why did he smile when I said that?

Bloodshot eyes and shaking hands,
I'm soothed by your charming smile.
My head is spinning but my eyes are locked in place;
Don't move a muscle, stay with me for a while,
I don't think I can stop my tears without you.
Hush my lips and tell me not to speak,
I can't form anything but stutters.
I'm falling apart but you won't call me weak,
You're treating me as if I'm normal,
Whatever good deed did I do,
Whatever sin had I redeemed myself for,
Whatever miracle; To fall in love with you?
You're holding me tightly in the rain,
You're caressing away my worries and pain.
