You are my obsession.

The lyrics rang again through my head.

Walking out of me and Y/N's room I smiled at the cute photo of us in the hallway. Heading down the stairs I walked into the kitchen to make our kids some breakfast. They had the day off and we were just hanging out together.

"Carter, where is your brother?" I asked my daughter.

"I dunno he's probably still sleeping" she shrugged.

"Could you get him please?" I asked.

"yeah"

"thanks buddy" I ruffled her hair as she walked away.

Pouring the pancake batter into the pan I let it cook before flipping it. Having a few made by the time Carter came back down with Toby in tow.

I set them on the table and they sat down and started eating. After I made the rest I went and sat with them and ate a few pancakes.

Something about your love

After breakfast we all cleared our plates and went up stairs to get ready for the long day we had ahead of us. Making it up to me and Y/N's room I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair letting a single tear slip I promised myself I would be strong for everyone. Wiping the tear away I got dressed and met the kids in the car.

Pulling out of the garage I backed into the road and we started our journey. Driving for a good 45 minutes Carter and Toby were starting to get restless.

"Dad! When will we be there?" Toby asked.

"Toby. We have been going here for three years you should know by now how long it takes us to get there or at least look for something that's familiar." I snapped a little.

The whole car went silent and I instantly felt bad and went to apologize.

"It's okay dad. I understand how hard this day is for you" Toby said.

"it's okay buddie I shouldn't have snapped at you like that. I'm sorry" I sighed.

Finally we pulled up and I parked the vehicle. Walking up the grassy hill we finally made it. The place where you were Y/N.

Bending down I fixed the flowers that were in front of your grave stone. Turning to the kids they gave me a moment with you alone.

"Y/N everyday I miss you so much. The same song runs over and over in my head. You are my obsession. I still can't believe it's been three years since I lost you." I sighed running my hands through my hair again.

Feeling Toby and Carter put their hands on my back I got up and wiped my tears.

"you guys wanna say anything before we leave?" I asked.

"bye mom miss you everyday" Toby said.

"miss you momma" Carter said letting a few tears go.

Grabbing their hands we walked back to the vehicle to start our journey home.

Blame it on science it's just the way i'm wired I couldn't get much higher.
