Blakely's POV
I forced myself to study all day Sunday. I had to stay home because driving up the dirt road to the lookout had warn my car out a little. I'd been driving away from home nonstop recently and my car deserved a break, so I settled for my room.

I barely got anything done, even though I was sitting at my desk with my books open, it didn't mean I was paying attention. I had been thinking non stop about my parents. The only time it'd left my mind was yesterday after breakfast at the lookout with Lucas. His problems were a pretty good distraction.

Emma had offered to come over to help if I picked her up but that meant driving my car again and I wasn't sure how much help she'd be. She hadn't stopped talking about my captaincy and Arden's face when I won.

The Monday that followed I actually woke up on time. I hadn't dressed like my normal self in a while, so I was glad I could. I straightened my hair and wore a pair of black trousers and a white button up long sleeved blouse with frills on the collar and the cuffs.

"And she's back" Emma sighed getting into my car. "She is indeed" I smiled.
"I kind of miss the jeans".
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah! You looked edgy, the homeless man look was really working for you".
"Well...thanks, I think?"
"What'd you do on Saturday? You were supposed to come over" she frowned.

"I texted you" I laughed, "I told you I was having breakfast with my parents".
"Breakfast doesn't go all day".
"Well, I went to the lookout after".
"Ok, first of all don't call it a look out, the only thing you're looking out for there is a hobo pissing in the bushes, and second of all, you ditched me for THAT?"

"A girl needs space!"
"Can't believe you sit there alone and don't even invite me".
I rolled my eyes and pulled into the school parking lot, "I wasn't alone".
"Who else is willing to go up to that shitty wannabe lookout?"
"Lucas Everett" I answered keeping my eyes on the road in front of me. "You went with Lucas Everett!" She yelled.

"I didn't plan to! He was already there when I got there!"
"Did you push him down the hill?"
"No" I laughed.
"You should've! Did you talk to him? What did he say?"

"I talked to him yeah, he was just asking annoying questions and stuff. The usual you'd expect" I lied. The only reason I lied was because I wasn't ready to risk Emma slapping me silly for enjoying ANOTHER conversation with Lucas. She didn't know about the first one, but if I told her about the second, the first would come out on it's own.

"God I hate him" she huffed folding her arms, "Let's go find him and run him over!" Emma suggested with a grin. I laughed and rolled my eyes.

"So we are still going to Mr Harris right? Even though you're now bonding with Lucas?"
"I'm not bonding with him and of course we are, you're still down right?"
"Of course" she nodded, "duh".
"Great" I smiled, "then I'm coming with you".

Lucas wasn't allowed back at school yet and neither was Nathen, Chris didn't seem that big on annoying me and Alex was very much a follower so over the past couple of weeks I'd been left alone by the boys.

There was a captains meeting halfway through first period. If I knew I was going to have to miss classes I may have reconsidered going up at all. I was already doing really badly.

We met in the staff common room which was pretty fancy, there was all kinds of food laid out for us on the table. I sat down on one side of Chris and Adren sat on the other. She made sure to stare me down for a good 10 minutes of course.

Mrs Dwyer was sitting at the head of the table with a stack of papers in front of her. "So" she smiled, "as we are all aware, Lucas can't be with us today, which means someone will have to give him this material he needs to read" Mrs Dwyer, Adren and I all looked at Chris.
