"Buzz. You, Akira and I. Tonight. You're coming," Tamika urged Siobhan later that night as they spoke on the phone. Siobhan laid on her bed, leisurely reading Monica McCartney's book The Ranger; something she found herself doing often when she wasn't studying or working. "Come on! It'll be fun!"

"I don't know... It's finals week; it's maybe not the best time to be partying." Siobhan sighed, itching to get back to her novel. She was at the part where in his quest to free Scotland from English rule, warrior Robert the Bruce made sweet love to his beautiful honey-haired lover in his castle.

But Tamika was not having it. "You need to relax. Take the night off. The night is young!"

Siobhan glanced at the night clock sitting at the dresser. 9:55 PM the clock read. "Fine. But I'm staying out only for an hour. Craig's home."

"Yay! Girl, I love you so, so much. See you soon."

Well, Robert? You're just going to have to wait until tomorrow.

Siobhan shut her book closed, grudgingly rising from her position on the bed and heading in the direction of the living room. There, Craig sat with a bowl of chips in his lap, watching television. Sneaking up behind him, Siobhan slid her arms around her boyfriend's shoulders, lightly kissing the crook of his neck.

"Babe..." She whispered in his ear, a smile playing on her lips. "Come out with me and my girls' tonight. We're going clubbing."

Craig, completely invested on the events on the television, shook his head no, catching Siobhan offguard. In confusion, she stopped kissing his neck for a moment. Craig would never turn down an opportunity to see Siobhan dresses in a sexy dress and killer heels. "I can't. You know tonight's the night of the play-offs. I can't miss this, Si."

"Record it for later, then." Siobhan replied, returning back to planting kisses on his neck. "Please?"

"Baby, no. You have fun with your friends tonight."

"Fine." Tired and now clearly annoyed, Siobhan stood up straight and crossed her arms together. Without any further words to her boyfriend, Siobhan walked back over to their room and shut the door, now beginning to get ready for her night out.

A shower, makeup, and three outfits later, Siobhan found herself in Tamika's car, downing pre-clubbing Tequilas provided by Akira. Tamika, being the designated driver, was loudly singing aloud to the stereo as Akira sat in the backseat, buzzed by the one shot she drank.

"I don't know about y'all, but I plan on getting wasted!" Akira giggled out, earning her a snarky laugh from Tamika.

"Innocent Akira? Wasted? Is this the end of the world?"

"Ha, ha, ha. Very funny." Akira replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes before looking out the window. "We're here!"

Loud music could be heard outside the car as Tamika parked the car in the parking lot. After waiting on line and passing the interogations of the bouncer, the three finally made it into the club.

Although the joint was vibrant, Siobhan was not. With the pounding music, sweaty gyrating and drunken people, the party scene simply wasn't Siobhan's place of to be. In fact, Siobhan didn't know if she was clinging onto Akira's hand for direction, or to avoid being all by herself.

"I saw a cutie back on the line outside. I'm going to go look for him." Tamika yelled through the music, inching away from her two friends. Before they knew it, Tamika was out of sight.

Akira, on the contrary, led Siobhan midway through the crowd before letting go of Siobhan's hand to dance with another partier. Anxiety crept up on Siobhan for soon, Akira was lost amidst the many faces.
