CHAPTER 27

EDWARD'S POV:

Since wala na kong mapuntahan, I decided na umuwi na sa condo ko. I lied down in bed the moment I reached my condo and tried to shrug everything off my mind but the harder I try, the harder for me to shake it off.

The next day...

I woke up with a heavy head dahil wala akong tulog. As much as I wanted to bore myself in the condo, wala akong choice kundi pumasok dahil for sure marami akong nakatambak na trabaho. I had a lot of things to approve, a lot of reports and business deals to review.

Pagkarating ko ng office, si Danielle agad ang hinanap ng mga mata ko. She's on her desk, and as usual, she wears her sweet smile whenever she greets me a pleasant morning. And I did the same. Yeah, it's pretty obvious na kapag andyan sya, parating maganda yung aura ko, I know my employee noticed it but I don't give a damn.

I went inside my office. A moment later, pumasok si Danielle dala ang usual coffee na piniprepare nya for me. Nilapag nya iyon sa aking lamesa at sa paglapag nya, nakita ko ang engagement ring nya.

"So...you said yes to his proposal?" I tried not to sound sarcastic about it.

She stared at me skeptically. "H-how did you...how did you know sir?"

"I was there at the restaurant yesterday so I kinda saw when he proposed to you."

She smiled sheepishly as she tried to hide her blush. "G-ganun po ba. Na...nakakahiya po."

"So, how does it feel? I mean, anong pakiramdam na nagpropose sya sayo sa harap ng maraming tao?" You're such a masochist Edward!

"Well, nakaka-overwhelmed po...until now I still can't believe that we're engaged."

"Kaya ba nagleave ka yesterday dahil dun?"

"Hindi ko po alam na magpo-propose sya. The reason why I filed a leave kasi it's our 3rd anniversary. Akala ko simpleng celebration lang, yun pala magpopropose sya."

"I see. Well, congratulations. And because you're one of my trusted employees, sagot ko na ang honeymoon nyo, any place you want." Sige Edward, saktan mo pa yang sarili mo.

"T-thank you so much po! I really appreciates it sir. Pero matagal pa naman po, wala pa nga pong date."

"If that's the case then, you can have it whenever you want." Nababaliw kana Edward.

"Thank you ulit." She let out a sweet smile.

"You're welcome."

"Ano po palang papagawa nyo sa kin today sir?"

"Uh that...let's see." I tried to look for the documents I was holding a while ago. "Oh here." I handed her several folders containing the reports. "I want you to make a presentation on each report. And also, furnish a copy of each report for the board members."

"Okay sir, noted. Is there anything else?"

"Lastly, I need those first thing in the morning tomorrow."

"L-lahat po?"

"Yes. Pasensya na pero since hindi ka nakapasok yesterday, medyo maraming trabaho today. Kahit ako natambakan ng work."

"Okay lang po sir, hindi naman po ako nagrereklamo. Alam ko naman po yun, nagulat lang po ako pero kaya naman po."

"Good. Thank you. Makakaalis ka na."

"Sige po sir."

She went out of the room. Hindi ko naman sya gustong pahirapan, kaso talagang nagkataon na maraming work. Kahit kasi si Anika ang CEO, pagdating sa mga business deals and proposal, ako pa rin ang may final say. Kung dati kahit hindi ako pumasok ayos lang, pero ngayon, since gusto ng kapatid ko na hands-on ako sa trabaho, wala akong choice kundi sumunod sa kanya. She's still my boss after all.
