Stan needed him a lot and just as much, but there was something different behind Kyle's need and want, something dark.
When either one of them had pain, or confusion, or just really needed to see each other, they went to each other. They always trusted each other.
Every second spent together felt better inside and out.
Stan knew he'd have to pull off eventually if any talking was going to happen.
When Stan did pull away, Kyle expressed a look of utter confusion.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Kyle yanked Stan back onto his lips.
Stan let the redhead have his way for a few seconds but then pushed off his lips again.
"We should talk more." Stan stated. Kyle whined a little.
He moved in and began trailing kisses around Stan's neck and jawline.
"Ky, I want you to realize that I know what I did was wrong and want to try making it up to you by helping with whatever's going on with you" Stan reached for Kyle's hands and locked them together.
Kyle had gotten passed the mood of wanting to talk.
He just wanted to keep kissing Stan and never stop.
In the back of his mind he knew that this would help them if they cleared up a few things.
After a sigh, Kyle talked first.
"When I heard that you moved, I went up to my room after school and punched one of the walls. My mom had to take me to urgent care and get it X-rayed. That's what the bandage is for, it's fractured." Kyle lifted his hand slightly.
"You don't seem to have a problem with gripping onto things." Stan smirked and lifted his wrists into view.
Kyle hummed a faint laugh and flipped Stan off.
"I do love you, Ky." Stan reminded the redhead.
Kyle stared back at the darker haired boy, he knew it was true.
He wasn't really sure what to tell Stan though.
It was hard to think of anything right now. "I really miss being around you and waking up next to you." Stan held on to Kyle's left hand and kissed it.
"What if you do something stupid again? Like actually move away and never come back and never tell me?" Kyle asked sternly.
"That won't happen again, my parents know I couldn't handle not being around the people I've grown up with. I was in the hospital because of the anxiety attack I had. Not seeing you and knowing you were far away broke me."
Kyle sensed the no-lying streak Stan was on. Silent tears cornered Kyle's eyes; 2 dribbled from each eye.
"Ky." Stan wiped his thumbs gently under his eyes. He brought Kyle closer to him and planted a passionate kiss on his lips.
Kyle climbed onto Stan's lap and locked his arms around his neck.
"Stan...I need you, but..." Kyle started to speak but stopped suddenly.
"But what?" Stan kissed around Kyle's cheek and jaw.
"I'm too afraid of getting hurt again." Kyle backed off of Stan, getting off the bed right after.
"Ky, I need you in order to be sane. I know from previous experiences that you need me to be sane. Let me help you through whatever's going on." Stan got off his bed as well and quickly walked over to the boy he needed with a strong passion.
Kyle's hands slid across his face to stop more tears from wetting his cheeks.
"This is so fucked up." He sighed deeply.
"I know, but let me fix it." Stan placed his hand over Kyle's shoulder.
Kyle bowed his head, "I-I don't know if I can. I don't know if you can either. My emotions have been fucking with my head and I think I'm gonna have to handle it on my own. I'm sorry."
"No. No, Ky please. Take me back." Stan came up behind Kyle and hugged him tightly. Kyle slowly pushed him away.
"Stan, you need to let me go." Kyle turned to face his favorite person in the world.
The monster had returned. It was telling him to push Stan away.
Let him be free of you, he's better off, the monster spoke in Kyle's head.
These words, damn these words.
Stan didn't want to believe any one of them spoken by the one he was in love with.
Something was really killing Kyle.
It was more than just Stan moving, something a lot more darker.
It wasn't unsolvable. It'd take some work, hard work.
Stan was willing to find out what it was because he needed Kyle to be happy.
If he didn't have him and someone else did, goodbye life.
When Stan turned around, he didn't expect to hear footsteps to his bedroom door. Quick ones.
Ones that meant someone was running. That someone was Kyle. Stan bolted out the door after the redhead.
In the process of outrunning Stan, Kyle was crying, not silently but quietly.
Out the front door and down the street, Kyle was far ahead of the boy behind him.
Look at how quickly he's running behind you. Better lose him before he catches you, the monster's voice echoed into Kyle's head again.
A red car approached the street from a driveway, Kyle's to be exact. It was his mother, Sheila.
Kyle picked up the pace and finally reached his mom's car.
She pushed her foot harshly against the break pedal. Kyle hurried to the passenger door and got in
Stan's asthma had kicked in. He couldn't chase a car driven by Sheila Broflovski, she was way too fast.
He'd go over to the Broflovski household later or call or text Kyle.
There was no way he was losing the love of his life to something unsaid.
