Chapter 23: Annie

I wake up and roll over to hug Hayden but he's not in the bed. I sit up and look around then get out of bed.
'Hayden?'
'Yeah?'
'Where are you?'
'In the kitchen.'
I walk into the kitchen and Hayden is cooking breakfast.
'What are you cooking?'
'Pancakes'
'Yum'
I walk behind Hayden and hug him, resting my head on his shoulder. He looks at me and smiles. I kiss him on the cheek and go get dressed.
'Baby?' He says as I walk away.
'Yeah?'
'I love you.'
'I love you too'
I put on some ripped skinny jeans and a white spaghetti strap and go back into the kitchen. Hayden set the table and put the pancakes on the table.
'Do you want me to wake up Chloe so she can eat?'
'No, let her sleep a little longer.'
A few minutes after I sat down and started eating Chloe walks out of her bedroom.
'What's that smell, it smells good.'
She sees Hayden and runs to him.
'Daddy!! Your home!!'
We both laugh while Hayden holds Chloe. He puts Chloe down and she walks over to her chair so she can eat.
'Mommy?'
'Yes, honey?'
'What are we doing today?'
I look at Hayden debating on if I should tell her. Hayden nods. I look at Chloe.
'We're going to the zoo today.'
'Yay!!!!!'
'Guess who else is going?'
'Who?'
'Aunt Hayley and uncle Ryan.'
'Aunt Hayley!!!!! I miss her so much!!'
'I know you do. Come on, let's go get you dressed and ready to go.'
I walk with Chloe into her room and help her get dressed she chose a floral sun dress and some sandals. She runs out of her room.
'Okay, I'm ready'
'Honey, me and your dad still have to finish getting ready before we can go.'
'Then hurry up! I wanna see Aunt Hayley!'
Me and Hayden laugh then we go get dressed. I put a flannel shirt over my tank top and Hayden wears a flannel shirt too with his favorite jeans. We both wear our black and white hightop vans. We walk out of our room and get Chloe.
'Chloe, come on, it's time to go.'
'Finally! You guys took forever to get ready!'
We get in the car and drive to the zoo. When we walk in Chloe sees Hayley and runs to her.
'Aunt Hayley!!!'
'Hey Chloe!' Hayley says as she picks up Chloe.
She sets Chloe down and walks over to me.
'Hey Annie.'
'Hey.'
We hug and both start crying, we haven't seen each other since our parents funeral. They got in a really bad accident and died at the scene of the crash.
We stop hugging and wipe our eyes. Hayden walks over to me and hugs me to try and calm me down. I stop crying and wipe away my tears and we go and see the first animal. We walk up to the elephants and Chloe goes crazy. She loves elephants.
'Mommy! Look at the elephant!!'
'I see.'
We walk to all the other animals, get something to eat and let Chloe play on the play ground. When Chloe comes back she is tired and wants to go home. We walk back to our car and tell Hayley and Ryan bye. Chloe falls asleep in the car and I fall asleep shortly after her. Hayden wakes me up and we are home. I get out and go inside and Hayden carry's in Chloe and puts her in her bed. I let her sleep in her clothes tonight because it's late and we're tired. I go lay down and Hayden lays down too. I flip over so my back is facing him and he wraps his arms around me.
'I love you, baby.'
'I love you too.'
We both fall asleep shortly after we laid down.
