The day had finally arrived! The boys were in Chicago for their book signing and I had gotten a wristband. We had camped outside of the store the night before in the hopes of gaining one of those precious bands and I had been lucky enough to be one of the last to get one. When the band had been set in my hand, it had almost been scary. People who hadn’t been so lucky immediately had approached me half asking half demanding the bracelet. People offered to buy it from me but there was no way I’d give up this chance. I stood on my toes, trying to see around the people in front of me to see the boys. It worked decently well since I was fairly tall, especially for being only 12, but I still only saw a flash of blond or the tip of Zayn’s quif.  I sigh shuffling my feet impatiently as I clutch the book in my hand. I was almost shaking with nerves as it was and I hadn’t even gotten up there yet. I practiced what I was going to say to each of the boys again in my head. I had everything all planned out. I’d tell Harry about our cat, ask Liam about Danielle, tell Louis I loved carrots, ask Zayn how long his hair took, and then finally ask Niall for a hug. I can’t stop the smile that breaks onto my face as I think about getting the chance to hug Niall. It would be a dream come true. And it’d happen today. After what feels like years, I eventually get to the front of the line. When I see the boys up close, I completely freeze. My mind is wiped blank and all I can do is stare.

“Hurry up” the guard says pulling me along through the line as they each sign my book.

“Hello love” Harry says looking at me with a quick smile before he’s onto the next person’s book. Things continue pretty much like this for the rest of the boys, the words varying slightly. I’m completely speechless standing infront of them, all my preplanned words thrown out the window. And just like that, I’m standing in front of Niall, the last one.

“Here ya are” he says handing me the book as the guard starts tugging me away from the table.

“Wait” I say, my mouth finally able to speak. “Wait no, I was going to ask Niall for a hug” I say desperately as I get further from the table. Niall looks up when he hears his name called and sees the guard pulling me away.

“Hang on” he says standing up.

“You’ve got to go” the guard says sternly.

“I want to give her a hug” Niall replies back before stepping past the guard and pulling me into his arms, giving me a quick hug.

“Thanks” I say breathily.

“Any time” he says stepping back and flashing me a smile.
