“C’mon Haley you’re going to be late” my little sister calls from down the stairs. I don’t know what she was so excited about. It wasn’t like her boyfriend was coming home today. She had been acting weird all week though, like she knew something I didn’t and she was dying to tell me but couldn’t. It was weird considering we generally tell each other everything. I look at myself in the mirror one more time, checking to make sure I looked absolutely perfect before I bounded down the stairs. “You look beautiful” she says beaming at me. I grin giving her a kiss on the cheek as I head out the door.

“You’ll probably be asleep when I get back so I’ll talk to you tomorrow” I say giving her one last wave as I close the door behind me. I practically skip to the car, so excited that Harry was finally back from his tour. I’d been allowed to visit him on tour but that was over a month ago now and it hadn’t been enough time. Now he was home for good. Well… 5 months, but that was plenty of time. I drive to the restaurant where I was meeting Harry. It was the restaurant where we had first met. I had been a server and he had been out on a date. Apparently the date hadn’t gone so well and Harry had crashed right into me as he tried to escape out the kitchen. He had knocked the tray all over me. I was completely plastered with food.

“Oh I’m so sorry” he apologized trying to pick up the plates off the floor.

“Just go” I snapped, annoyed at this celebrity who thought he could get away with whatever he wanted like ditching his date. He had looked at me guiltily before bolting out the back door. I returned to work, now having to stay in the back since my uniform was dirty. There goes those tips, I thought to myself as I was stuck with helping to keep the kitchen clean now. When my shift was over, I had walked out the back door of the kitchen, heading to the car, where I saw a familiar face loitering about.

“I was hoping you’d give me a chance to make it up to you” he explains. I said no. He kept coming back though. Day after day, week after week. Finally, after a month of this, I finally said yes. The determination of this boy was starting to get to me and as much as I tried to deny it, he was cute. We went on a date and shortly after he asked me to be his girlfriend. I said no again. I wasn’t ready for all the hate that came with dating a celebrity. But once again, his determination wore through my doubts and I finally said yes. There was alittle hate, but for the most part people accepted it. Besides, Harry was there to get me through the hate I got.

Now here we were, 4 years later, his career still going strong, and so was our relationship. I see Harry sitting at a table and I walk over. He jumps up and I smile as he envelops me into a hug. Even though the hug only lasted a few seconds, it felt like years. Finally, he pulls back.

“Hals” he says, calling me by my nickname. He pushes in his chair, making room, before dropping to his knee. “Four years ago, I quite literally ran into the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. I know I haven’t always been the best person, but you have always taken me as I am. So I was wondering… erm. Basically…what I’m trying to say is…” he says nervously. “Would you marry me?”

This time, I said yes the first time.
