Chapter Seventy Five

Early the following day Raffy goes with Athena and Thirdy in the hospital. They received a call from Dei telling them that Richard wakes up around six hours after they left. Athena eagerly ask Raffy to bring her to the hospital but Dei insisted that they visit the next day because Thirdy is no longer allowed to visit in the evening.

"Mommy" Athena softly said while giving her Mom a kiss, she is very careful to wake up her Dad

"Hello Sweetie" Dei greeted back. "Hello my prince, did you miss Mommy and Daddy" she asked Thirdy and the boy quickly gave her a hug. "I miss you my prince"

"We brought breakfast for you Tita Dei" Raffy said

"Thank you Raphael. And thank you for bringing them here" Dei said

"No problem Tita Dei" Raffy replied

"Ate is waiting for Tristan, susunod na lang daw sila agad after their meeting with their wedding coordinator" Athena said

"I told her to rest a little, sobrang stress na ang ate mo" Dei said

"Kaya nga po Mommy eh. Mabuti na lang they decided to postpone the wedding until Dad gets better" Athena said

"Mommy, when are we going to put the Christmas decorations in Daddy's room?" Thirdy innocently asked

"Huh? What Christmas decoration my prince?" Dei asked

"Ate Charmaine said that we will be spending Christmas here, where will we put our gifts? There is no Christmas tree here" Thirdy replied

"Then we will ask the doctor and nurses to put one in my room" they heard Richard said though he has difficulty in speaking

"Daddy!!!" both Athena and Thirdy exclaimed and runs to Richard. Athena quickly hugs her Dad while Raffy has to carry Thirdy to be able to kiss his Dad.

"How are you my little prince? Did you have a safe flight sweetie?" Richard asked Thirdy and Athena

"I was here yesterday but you were asleep. How are you Daddy?" Athena said

"Ok na ako, nandito ka na eh, where is Ate Charmaine?" Richard asked

"She will be here soon Dad, they have to meet their wedding coordinator for the postponement of the wedding" Athena said

"Sorry hindi muna matutuloy ang pagiging maid of honor mo sa Ate mo" Richard said

"It's alright" Athena said while still hugging her Dad

"It will also take sometime before I can brag your design to my friends and collegues" Richard said

"Wag muna Dad, baka mapressure ako" Athena kids

"I saw her wedding gown and I am so proud of you sweetie. Daddy is so proud of you" Richard said

Athena begins crying upon hearing her Dad. "And I will make you even prouder" Athena replied

"Daddy, ate Charmaine said we will celebrate our Christmas here because you are sick. Can you please be well tomorrow Dad? I don't like to celebrate Christmas here, please come home tomorrow" Thirdy said

"But my prince, Daddy needs to stay here a little longer. He cannot be really well by tomorrow" Dei explained to Thirdy

"I can sing him a song Mom, just like how you used to do whenever I get sick then I easily gets well the next day" Thirdy said

"I love to hear that song my little prince" Richard said

"He still needs to undergo some medications and we cannot do it at home. But I know if you sing for him, it would help to make him well sooner than we expect" Dei said

Thirdy's eyes gleam upon hearing what his Mom said. He asked Raffy's help so that he could sit beside Richard and he begins to sing him the song that his Mom used to sing for him.

"I want to stay here with you Mom, samahan kitang bantayan si Daddy and let Ate breathe for a while" Athena suggested

"Thank you for doing that sweetie. I also believe that ate needs to rest. Also, promise me that you will help her on the mass for your Dad" Dei said

"Of course Mom, kami na po ang bahala" Athena replied

"Thanks sweetie. By the way, your Daddy is right, we have seen her wedding gown and the design is so brilliant. It is exactly what I have in mind for your Ate Charmaine. The gown would not fit into anyone else but her alone. I am equally proud as your Dad" Dei said

"Really Mom, you like my design?" Athena asked

"Yes sweetie, I am actually jealous at her kasi I also want you to design my gown as well kaya lang nahiya ako sa iyo eh, baka sobrang busy ka na sa school kung sisingit pa ako" Dei said

"Why did you not tell me Mom? I would love to design a gown for the mother of the bride. Habol na lang natin Mom tutal postpone naman ang wedding ni Ate eh" Athena suggested

"I like the idea. Can you imagine how proud I will be for my two girls on that day?" Dei said

"Thank you Mom. Thank you for supporting me on this. If you did not side on me, baka hindi ako natuloy sa FDI malamang nasa isang boring na business school ako ngayon" Athena said

"Business schools are not boring Athena" Raffy butts in

"Yes it is, for me" Athena replied

"Fashion school bores me too, so it's a tie" Raffy answers back

"Whatever Raphael" Athena said while her left eyebrow's lifted

"I want to tell you something sweetie" Dei said

"What is it Mom?" Athena asked nervously

"When you told your Dad that you want to pursue your studies in Germany I sided on you because I know that your heart always brings out the best in you. I know your dream is different from what we dreamt for you but that does not mean that we will not support you to chase that dream. We will always be here for you sweetie. We will always hold you in our hearts regardless if you decide to take a different path rather than the path which we have prepared for you. You don't have to prove yourself to me or to your Dad. We want you to do things because you love doing those not because you are proving yourself to us. We will always be proud of you sweetie" Dei said while Athena is in tears

"I will keep that in mind Mom" Athena said

"Always be true to yourself and as well as to the people around you sweetie. Chasing your dreams should not be a burden, it will be easier for you and you'll be the happiest if you enjoy your journey of chasing it" Dei added and wipe Athena's tears with her hands.
