Chaptet Fifty Seven

Admit it or not, the thought of Athena travelling with Enzo plus the possibility of spending the Christmas and New York triggers an alarm for Raffy.  Technically this will be their first holiday being together but the sad part is, they will be celebrating it apart from each other.  Athena’s spending the holidays with Enzo never crosses his mind. 

He knows that Charmaine roots for Athena and Enzo but that was the time that she does not know about their relationship.  Maybe this time would be different as he already explained and made Charmaine deeply realized how much he loves Athena, but this does not mean that he will be complacent because it is Enzo that is involve.  The same Enzo that Athena claims to have a crush on her and eventually became her close friend for a very short period of time.

“I don’t know Ralph, wala naman tayong relatives sa New York to spend the holidays with.  Mas ok pa nga kung dito sa Melbourne” Felicity replied

“Para maiba naman, sa New York na lang tayo mag celebrate ng Christmas until New Year.  Sabihin mo kay Mommy gusto mo sa New York na lang tayo” Raffy insisted

“Ayoko ko nga, baka magalit si Papa sa akin.  I will just go wherever Papa and Tita Liza decide to go.  Ikaw ang magsabi kay Tita Liza anyway, ikaw ang may gustong pumunta sa New York” Felicity replied

“Wala talaga akong asahan sa iyo eh”  Raffy irritably said

“Ralph iba na lang ang hingin mo kasi ayokong isipin ni Papa na inaabuso ko kayo.  Ayokong magmukhang bratinela, kasi wala naman akong karapatang gawin yun.  The fact that the whole family finally have accepted me makes me feel more blessed” Felicity explained

“Ang dami mong paliwanag, hindi ko naman hinihingi” Raffy said

“Please understand and don’t get mad at me Ralph.  You know how careful I am when it comes to how Papa will take my gestures” Felicity further explained

“O sige, wag na nating pagtalunan ‘to.  Wala rin namang mangyayari” Raffy said

“You are mad at me again.  Bakit ba kasi gusto mong sa New York mag Christmas, ano ba meron dun?”  Felicity asked

“Ayaw mo naman akong tulungan di ba, what made you think that I will tell you?” Raffy asked

“Wag namang ganyan Ralph, sige ganito na lang tell me why you want to spend the holidays in New York and I promise na pag-iisipan ko kung tutulungan kita or not” Felicity said

“Wag ka nang mag-abala, hindi mo rin ako tutulungan at malamang sasabihan mo pa akong paranoid.” He replied

“If you won’t tell me the reason, sasabihin ko mismo kay Papa gusto mong sa New York mag Christmas at New Year.  Try me Ralph, you know what I am capable of doing” Felicity threatens and she heard Raffy blew a sigh but remains mum as if gauging if she will make the call or not “Ano tawagan ko na ba si Papa? Ibaba mo na para makatawag na ako” Felicity dares

“Athena and her whole family will be spending their holidays in New York” Raffy said

Felicity rolls her eyes and said “I knew, this is all about Athena again.  O sige na nga request ko kay Tita Liza na mag spend tayo ng Christmas at New Year sa New York. But this does not mean na pipilitin ko sya, if she says no I will not insist anymore.  Did I make myself clear brother?”

“Copy that sister.  Thank you.  Your effort is already enough, I owe you this” Raffy gladly said

“Yes Raphael you me owe this one kapag pumayag si Papa at si Tita Liza sisingil kita” Felicity said

“No problem, how about a Carribean cruise next year all expenses paid” Raffy said

“Consider it done brother” Felicity said.  “Hay naku Ralph, you are so in love with Athena, the more I desire to meet her.  I want to know what she has for you to be this head over heal enamored to her. I see Charmaine as a sweet and nice girl, I bet Athena is equally sweet and nice as her sister” She commented

“Therefore, make Mom and Dad say yes” Raffy said

“Masaya ako para sa iyo, honestly Ralph, I am praying that you and Athena would end up together”  Felicity said

“Of course we will. Kaya nga we need to go to New York to secure my territory” Raffy said

“I got you there! This does not just about wanting to spend Christmas and New Year with your girlfriend but much more of securing territory.  You are such a paranoid Ralp.  Tell me who the guy is? Do I know him?” Felicity curiously asked    

“Nope, I haven’t met him either” Raffy said

“Tsk tsk tsk, mahirap yan Ralph hindi mo kilala ang kalaban mo.  Don’t you think you have to know him first?  Do some research para sigurado ka sa actions na gagawin mo” Felicity said

“Anak sya ng kaibigan ni Tito Richard, I saw his photo pero hanggang dun lang.  According to Charmaine, she is rooting for Enzo and Athena, hindi pa naman alam ni Charmaine yung tungkol sa amin ni Athena when she did that.  But she did not deny that Enzo got smitten with Athena when they were in Zurich.  Sila nga daw ang laging magkasama ang nag-uusap. Actually his whole family is rooting for them, they like Enzo to end up with Athena” Raffy said

“Ay kung ganyan ang sitwasyon, ibaba mo na ang phone para makatawag na ako kay Tita Liza.  We need to book our flight to New York as quickly as possible.  Where are they staying so I could reserve on the hotel nearest them. Labanan na ng pamilya sa pamilya ito.” Felicity said

“Ipakilala na lang kita kay Enzo, baka mabaling ang atensyon sa yo.  You are like Athena anyway, bubbly and straightforward” Raffy said

“Hoy tinutulungan na nga kita, mukhang ibebenta mo pa ako.  Also, may boyfriend ako kaya impossible yang sinasabi mo” Felicity said

“Malay mo magka-crush sa iyo si Enzo, try lang natin” Raffy said

“Ayoko ko nga Raphael.  Wag mo nga akong kulitin baka hindi pa kita tulungan.  Mahal ko boyfriend ko at wala akong balak ipagpalit yun kahit kanino” Felicity stated

“Don’t be so sure my dear sister, you do not have a ring yet” Raffy said

“You talk as if Athena already has the ring” Felicity said

“Yes she does, pendant muna sa necklace nya kasi ayaw pa nya ipaalam sa parents nya” Raffy said

“So what’s the use of securing your territory eh, secure naman na pala.  Praning ka lang talaga Ralph, hindi maganda yang ganya.  Pag-isipan mo muna Ralph, Athena might take this differently” Felicity said

“Are you backing out na Felicity?”  Raffy asked and obviously annoyed

“Grabe full name basis na naman, what I am trying to say here is, baka mas makagulo pa kapag nag New York tayo.  Athena already wears your ring, secured na secured ka na bro.  Para saan pa ang angst mo? Your actions would only make Athena think that you don’t trust her enough. Opinion ko lang ‘to Ralph pero sana pag-isipan mo rin.  But of course if she’ll invite you to New York that’s a different story” Felicity said

“Then make Charmaine invite us to New York Felicity” Raffy said

“What???? You are so unbelievable Raphael” Felicity frustratedly uttered.
