Chapter Twenty Six

Richard blew a huge sigh before he presses the 'end call' button. He could still vividly remember his conversation with Raffy few days ago. He immediately called Raffy as soon as Dei and he receive a lengthy email from Raffy.

He is already expecting Raffy's proposal when he saw him bought the ring in Zurich. But he did not expect it to be this soon. As soon as in less than a month from the time Raffy promised that no proposal will happen very soon. Raffy's email for him and Dei expresses the clean intention and his sincerest love for their second princess and perseverance is very evident in him.

He admits that he admires Raffy's courage to tell them his intent to marry the second princess before the proposal took place, such courage that he did not have when he asked Dei to marry him. He cannot deny that he uses her pregnancy to insist on her to marry him and did not even bother to give Dei's parents the courtesy that they deserved.

"Ang lalim ng buntong hininga mo kamahalan." Dei said.

"It's Raphael" he replied

"Let me guest, Athena said yes" Dei uttered and Richard silently nods

"Doesn't she have dreams? Why did she accept his proposal? I am expecting that she will turn him down. Ayaw ba sa atin ni Athena? First she insisted on studying abroad despite the presence of a good fashion schools here in the Philippines. We also have FDI here, but she chooses Germany. She prefers to hide her relationship with Raphael rather than telling it to us. Galit ba sa atin si Athena your highness or she just really do not trust us" Richard disappointedly asked

"You are just upset kaya mo sinasabi yan, but I am not blaming you.  You gave your blessing to Raphael because you are expecting that Athena will turn him down. Apparently, it was the other way around" Dei said.

"Yes, I admit that. I saw in her a bright future in the career that she chooses. Kaya nga sinuportahan natin kahit alam nating mahirap kasi malayo sya because I am confident that she'll choose to prioritize her studies" Richard said

"Baka naman like Tristan to Charmaine, Raffy just want to give Athena an assurance that he wants them to end up together. I'm sure papaunahin nila si Tristan at Charmaine. Have you asked Raphael about their plan?" Dei said

"Yes I asked him that, he said they are getting married in less than two weeks?" Richard replied.

"Two weeks? Athena Rose agreed to get married in ywo weeks?" Dei exclaimed. "Call Athena Rose right now your highness. I want to talk to her. Ano ang pumasok sa kukote nya at nagmamadali syang magpakasal?" Dei bursted out

"Are you serious? Do you really want to call and talk to Athena about this?" Richard asked

Dei sits at the edge of their bed and started bitting her nails "I am not" she said then took a deep sigh "I just don't know what to say. Like you, I am not expecting my Athena to accept the marriage proposal. Ok lang naman if she accepts but getting married immediately is a different story your highness" Dei said

"I know. I really wonder what made her say yes and agreed to get married before Raffy gets back to Manila? Hindi ba sya masaya na kasama tayo?" he futher asked

"So you think hindi ako masaya sa family ko kaya pumayag akong magpakasal sa yo?" Dei asked

"You know that is not what I mean, our case is different from them.  And will you please calm down, we are one in this, wag mo akong awayin" Richard said

"I'm sorry your highness. Pero hindi ko alam ang iisipin ko, Athena is only nineteen. I got married at the age of twenty" Dei said

"Should we meddle?" Richard asked then Dei gave him a blank stare

"Like I have said, I could not think straight. Tomorrow Tristan will be proposing to Charmaine, while Athena is already engaged and will be getting married in a few days. Parusa ba ito na maaga akong nag-asawa? Magugunaw na ba ang mundo at hindi makapaghintay ang mga batang yun?" Dei said

"Would you like to talk to Raphael for your peace of mind?" Richard asked to calm her down.

"Can we do it now?" Dei asked.

"Not tonight your highness. Raffy said that they will go out on a date to celebrate their engagement" Richard said

"At nakuha pa talaga nilang magcelebrate" Dei said while Richard just glued his eyes on his wife. "And I can't believe that you take this lightly" Dei added

"You are already close to hysterical. Nobody will calm us down if we both gets frantic" Richard said "You said you cannot think straight, so I need to think for you. This is not easy for me too your highness" he explained

"I have nothing against Raphael, infact, I am happy that they end up loving each other. But your highness Raphael will just manage their business while Athena completes her schooling, I don't see the reason of getting married quickly. They even have not reached their monthsary yet, mauuna pa yung magpakasal sila" Dei uttered

"They are getting married after their monthsary. According to Raphael, they are allowed to get married in Germany if they stay there for at least twenty one days straight" Richard said

"Whatever" Dei disappointedly said

Richard kneels infront of Dei and hugs her. He too is too upset on Athena's decision, he realized that whether he admits it or not, this kind of behavior shows that Athena is so much every inch of him. When it comes to the matters of the heart, Athena shuts off her mind, exactly how he is.

"Let's just handle this calmly your highness" he said while he holds Dei's hands "We both know how determined Athena is once she sets her mind on something. It is always heart over mind for her.  Ayokong magalit sya kay Raphael kapag nalaman nya na alam natin ang tungkol sa kanilang dalawa. As of now, I am holding on to my trust to Raphael when it comes to Athena. We both know that he is the only one we could entrust our second princess at this time. At alam din natin kung paano magalit si Athena and we do not want that to happen" Richard said.

"I still want to talk to Raphael" Dei insisted

"Yes your highness, we will talk to Raphael tomorrow while Athena is at school" Richard promised and kisses Dei at her temple.
