The Great Hall

I'm so glad I'm on my 5 chapter. Please let me know what you think of the story so far in the comments below. I'd really appreciate your feedback. Just a heads up this chapter is going to be very very long. But it's only because it's very descriptive. So here goes!

Once we got off the boat we began to follow a trail of kids to the gates of the castle. Once all the first years were there, the gates automatically opened and an elderly woman was standing at the entrance. "Good evening children." She began. "My name is Professor McGonagall and I am Headmaster of Hogwarts. I'm a few moments you will enter the great hall where you will sit on a stool and have a hat placed on your head. The hat will sort you into your houses. During your time here, your house will be like your home. Now, if you will please stand in two single file lines, and follow me to the great hall."

The doors of the great hall opened and we were greeted by a big room with seated children clapping and smiling at all the newcomers as we entered the room. At the front was a big table where all the professors sat in and a stool placed in the middle with an old patchy brown hat. Then once the room went silent, McGonagall went up to the front and began to speak,

"Welcome students to another year at Hogwarts, and greetings to all our first years. Some of us will be joining the school while some of you will be leaving. I wish a good luck to you all. Now," she continued "As many of you know there are four main houses of Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. But there is one more that the school also has which was created for those who have all the means of every house. It's name is Hogswing , and it was created after the Battle of Hogwarts to represent the win and loss of those who sacrificed themselves and who are known as heroes. By being placed in the house, you are given the great honor of representing a event that will remain in history forever. And now let us sort you into your houses to see where you belong." She finished her speech and everyone clapped.

Once the great hall was silent, McGonagall began to speak again. "Now when I call you please come up and sit on the stool and the sorting hat will be placed on your head and will sort you into your houses." Then she opened a scroll and began to call names. ....Aris...Hufflepuff...Matt...
Gryffindor...Brendon...Ravenclaw...and so on. Then a few students later:
"Madison Malfoy"

I thought in my head, "Wait that's me. I'm Madison Malfoy!" I looked at Luke and then slowly made my way down the hall to the hat and from the corner of my eyes I could see people staring at me with a look, and not a good one. It was more like a scared and disgusting look. Then I walked very stiffly up the stairs and on to the stool. I could've sworn my face was as white as snow.

"Hmmmm," Went the hat. "Very curious, very curious indeed. So many ways to go. But where to put you." There was a silence, a very long silence. And during that silence only one thing was going through my mind, it was Luke. I absolutely didn't care what house I was in as long as I was with Luke. I wanted to make my parents proud by which house I was in even through they didn't care but Luke. He was the only person I knew besides my cousins but there was just something about him, something special I could feel it! Then the hat spoke once more. "I see you have many many thoughts but that one you think the most of, you must really care about that thought. Well if that thought fills you with glee, better be:
HOGSWING!"

They all started to clap and cheer and my body was filled with relief but I was only starring at one person, Luke. Oh how I hoped we would be in the same house. He smiles at me and my heart is filled with glee. And so I make my way down to the fifth table to the other members of the house and began to introduce myself and shake hands. I guess they didn't care about who I was, but them my mind began to wonder, "Why did the sorting hat put me here? I mean out of all the houses, he put me here. Why was I so special?" But then my mind changes subject when I hear the words "Luke Lunt". My mind began to race, "Oh god is the sorting hat gonna grant my wishes?! Is he gonna get sorted into another house?! If he does, will we never talk again?" But then I just look at the hat, then look at Luke, then back at the hat. Then I hear those words, the words I hoped he would say:
"HOGSWING"

I started to instantly clap and cheer and smile as he looked at me and smiled as he made his way towards me. When he got close enough, I just jumped into his arms. Then we let go and took a seat as the sorting was almost done. But that didn't matter to us as long as we were in the same house I was happy. Then another girl comes to our table and sits besides us. Then she began to speak, "Hello. I'm Marley Hacker, I'm muggle born. "Nice too meet you Marley. I'm Madison Malfoy, half blood." "It's a pleasure to meet you Madison, and you are?" She said looking at Luke. "Oh, I'm Luke Lunt, pure blood." "Nice to meet you as well. Since we're all in the same house, wanna be friends?" She said. Me and Luke looked at each other. Then I said, "We'd be delighted." Just after that, Professor McGonagall clicked her goblet with her spoon and said, "Let the feast begin!" And a feast of food appeared throughout each end of every table. The food, the friends, everything was right. For once in my life there were was a spark of hope that everything was, perfect.
