We fell too late,
ran towards the gate-
only when it was locked shut, safe-
we found the sea when we submerged ourselves in land,
because we were afraid to drown.
with me, there was no guarantee,
I was night
black insecuirty
with him, you had opportunity,
and with me, you'd be free.
but you could only lived trapped,
knowing, every, plausibility
he gave you the world but I was offering the stars,
stepping stones to a blistering fire-
maybe death, but worth the beauty,
you could not handle a love like purity.
