Back to real time

As I approached my school, Brooklyns school for visually impaired students, I could hear parents dropping of their kids. When we first moved here my parents were still working hard, building up their company, so my mom would bring me and Eric to school while my father went to the office.

I walked over to a familiar tree that acted as a meeting spot for me and my friend Sebastian. Sebastian was born with a disease that made his eyesight worse and worse until he went completely blind when he was 8. His parents shipped him back to America to live with his grandmother when he was completely blind. They couldn't take care of him being blind and all.

"Hola Raine" he greeted when he heard me approach

"Hey Sebastian," I said back "happy Monday"

"Ugh. I hate Mondays. Did you walk all the way here?" He asks me. Again people talking like I'm some weak little girl. And Sebastian knows what it's like.

"Well yeah, I am amazing. But seriously you ask me that like every single day."

"Just being gentlemanly. My abuela raised me right." He states, probably standing up strait with pride.

"C'mon charming, let's go to class." As we start walking toward the school I hear Sebastian stub his toe on something.

"Maldita sea! Porque todo en mi vida debe ser tan difícil? Atornillar mi vida!" He then continued to swear in Spanish for another good minute. (Dammit! Because everything in my life must be do difficult? Screw my life.)

"Now what would your abuela say if she heard you right now?" I asked jokingly

"She would say 'well that's different" he replied

"Mmhmm. Right." I replied sarcastically

"Whatever Raine. C'mon let's get to class."

We got to our history class two minutes early.
"Hey Mrs. Hanley" I greet

"Why hello Raine." She cooed, I was not so secretly her favorite. Two minutes later the rest of the class started filling into the room

"Alright, Alright, quiet down. Settle down. Today for class we will just be doing some reading. Open you textbooks and turn to page 394.

The class went by fairly quickly, and so did the rest of the day. Before I knew I was saying goodbye to Sebastian and starting to walk home.

As I passed the bakery, which smelled like yeast and fresh bread,    I heard a familiar set of footsteps. I had a quick internal battle debating what to do. Internally rolling my eyes, I sighed and slowed down to let him catch up.

"What the hell do you want, Brandon?"
