Aunt Eevie slides the door open
when the sun starts dipping into the horizon.
Her scarf is a petal pink colour,
soft and warm,
it feels nostalgic -
a memory of a happier time.
Ann'e is working in the cafeteria downstairs
and Suki sits on the empty cot next to mine,
crayons neatly arranged around her crossed legs.
We look up and Aunt Eevie smiles.
"How are you doing, Harmony?
It's good to see you awake, canım."
